Why no "MUHAJIR" has any problem living in Punjab ? Punjabies dont complain either

There was not much wrong in Karachi too before some sellouts created MQM to exploits ethnicity for their personal gains while showing green gardens to naïve followers. The problem is that its been almost 30 years despite the Karachiets continuous and overwhelming support in every possible way and what did they delivered? NIL, instead they have turned Karachi in to hell and a vast majority still supports them. these are the people blinded by ethnic hate and are burning in their own fire.

The positive change is (and credit goes to IK) that sane people have come out and supported other political party instead of being usual puppets... i am sure soon more people would realise that and stop following the goons.

MQM is basically run like a mafia with one dictator criminal controlling it, the day he is removed from the scene, it will crumble itself due to internal conflicts and fights.

I grow up when there was operation against MQM gangs in Karachi by Benazir government. I remember many from Karachi moved to our area and they were welcomed. They told stories about kidnapping , bhatta , black mailing many of them sold houses to lower price and moved to Islamabad Lahore area. Same stories as we hear today but that time media wasn't same. I had many class fellows from Karachi and they told me same thing. Now i live in Norway and have few urdu speaking so called Muahjir friends and they tell same stories. Stories are same how MQM gangs operate and also how Phatans are involved in crimes as drugs weapons etc. Some of urdu speaking told me they picked guns when phastons started to make gangs etc.

But what my point is there are ppl from all over Pakistan who move to Punjab but no one complain in Punjab. Most ppl from Karachi are educated and respected. Phatan are involved in smuggling and few other crimes but many other work hard and live honset life. I meet many from Gilgit in my school they were very good in football. U will almost never hear any punjbai complaining about they are coming and taking our jobs like Phatans has taken over most shops spesialy clothes and transport biz only complain i have against them that they smuggle alot of stuff from India China etc.

You nailed it, that's the cancer, so is Altaf (a bihari)

I doubt that there is large bihari component of mohajirs settled in punjab thats why so much calm there. Biharis mostly came to pakistan after fall of dhaka and within year they were prominant in violence against sindhis in the langauge riots. Moreover all the mohajir-pathan riots were actually bihari-pathan riots.

The only urdu speaking mohajirs that I have come across in my city gujranwala are siddiqi who according to some sources on internet are muslim converts from hindu kayashta caste of UP with some middle eastern muslim admixture, another family I know are sheikh probably also from UP, these are the mohajir families that I personally know. They are well versed in punjabi language so if they don't tell you that they are hindustanis (the term used for them in our area) you will probably think that they are regular punjabis. We also have Meo rajputs in our neighborhood but they speak their rajasthani dialect in their home though they are equally good in punjabi and urdu too, they are migrants from Mewat area of haryana/rajashtan and they are culturally quite crude and more or less culturally similar to agricultural families of punjab because of which they often live even in the villages of punjab.
I have observed the same in peshawer, they will introduce themeselves as hindkowans to you even though they speak urdu at homes. I have met few of them, usually very dark-skinned with U.P/Bihar faces while hindkowans of peshawer are generally lighter skinned with punjabi looks. In peshawer they are humble and business oriented. Urduspeakers are also settled in DI khan and hazara.
After 1971, some biharis also came to our areas. In lakki marwat, the bihari families are settled in urban towns and are famous for their tasty samosas and pakorras. No one harass them or burn their properties, like they do in karachi with other's.

Siddiqis living in gujranwala are lighter skinned but biharis sorry to say look like indian tribals.

UP (District Muradabad)
Once a stronghold of Rohilla pathans.....i have extensively read about rohilkhand, "akhroats" actually turned that forested and backward region into one of the richest region through their excellent agriculture system and trade in 18th century. Akhroat pathan turned rohilkhund into the region with highest muslim concentration in U.P. Most of the cities an towns in rohilkhund were founded and flourished by ruhela akhroats.

Pashtuns do their duty efficiently without complaining but it doesnt mean they may not be target of racism and hate. There was an urduspeaker member here, haviz sultan from karachi with pathan roots from U.P. He told us that their driver is a honest and well-mannered pashtun from swabi but his family members are some times very insensitive , rude and racist to him for small reasons, they were calling him kamaqal akhroat and low IQ pathan. Ironically that family themeselves were descendents of pathan conquerers of UP.

Atleast they can easily earn money from MQM dominated areas and we can't even cross the Pashtun dominated areas like Banaras, Pathan Colony, Sherpao Colony, Al Asif Square, Manghopir etc etc ...............

Are people of Punjab willing to host the Biharis (East Pakistanis) trapped in Bangladesh for 45 years? These East Pakistanis fought alongside our troops and now strangled for how many years. If the people of Punjab so open hearted, they should tell the government to help bring those East Pakistanis back and get them srttled in Punjab. Other provinces have already opposedf their settlement on their land.

I dont know the ground realities of karachi, may be they are cautious of patloon wearing boys who come on bikes and shoot randomely at them? (namaloom target killers) . The areas you have mentioned, are the most visited sites by media and seem perfectly normal to me with normal people (if you dont consider pashtuns as normal people thats another matter). I think its just that mohajirs are afraid to go to the mentioned areas due to the reputation while pashtuns are not afraid to go into inner mohajir areas, even if there is risk of getting robbed at gunpoint or worst being shot by street criminals of MQM for no other reason than being of different looks, dress and langauge...thats called hate crime or racism

As you told that you don't know ground realities of Karachi and yet you blame everything worst to MQM then you must be a victim of propaganda ........

I said so because i have never been to karachi but i do recieve feedback from those who live in karachi, even from mohajirs who were my class fellows in Qatar.

smuggling is not considered crime among pashtuns neither killing some one in revenge is a big deal for him. Smuggling is avoiding duty on goods, the damage goes to governament...Historically pakhtuns never paid taxes/duties to mughals and british, not even to kabul so its kind of embedded in our genes that we would try to smuggle. Smuggling is not crime in islam, bribing is. So you should be more worried about pathans paying bribe and bhata to punjab police.
You are portraying very negative image of pathans on pdf we are law abiding citizen of pakistan if some of illiterate pathan are smuggling that does not mean its in there genes most of them are earning rizq e halal. Every tribe in pathans has different nature so we could not conclude that all of them like to smuggle and they are not paying taxes.

Smuggling is not unislamic

Anything which causes loss to the state is haram in islam and pakistan is Islamic state so it apply to every citizen including us
Lol richest men in pakistan are not paying taxes and you are after poor pashtuns who smuggle small goods in buses and trucks. Rulers should pay full taxes first. There is no wealth tax in pakistan , in such situation its perfectly halal for a pashtun driver to smuggle a carpet. (i support civil disobediance of PTI by the way).
Perhaps you are not aware that there are no taxes on FATA and PATA to begin with. Who told you there is taxation in islam other than zakat, ashar etc?. Extra tax is counted as sood and sood is haram.

Punjab is for anyone who wants to live there, with no if and buts. Its a true melting pot.

Punjab is indeed a melting pot. It has absorbed countless Kashmiris, Pashtoons, Baloch, and Pakistanis who migrated from various parts of india, including millions of Haryanvis ( Rangharis ), Rajasthanis, Delhites, Madhya Pradeshis and people from Uttar Pradesh.

I belong to Karachi, was born and raised in Karachi. After 14 years of age I spent more than 15 years in Punjab and KP 2/3 and 1/3 respectively. I partially agree with

Urdu speaking people in Karachi isolated themselves from others. The time which I have spent in other provinces forces me to say that I do not agree to this as well.

Integration of Mohajirs in Karachi cannot be attributed to non-social integration alone. They constituted major part of population and had lesser opportunities of inter-regional marriages, especially when it was a more conservative society then.

I have found bias in Punjab and KP also, which is but natural. Yes I will agree that people from both the provinces are welcoming and very loving, so are Karachites . On the other hand people from rural Sindh are very possessive, but this does not mean that they are not welcoming. However, some individuals with vested interest have divided this nation.

I will give @Leviza 100000% for

Yes brother, u r right. In Punjab, there is distinction made between local and non-local. For example, the Rohtakis / Rangharis, in their millions now, including Mewatis, have maintained their culture, language, and family name, which obviously cannot be undone, within the majority of their population. Though, intermarriage in Punjab is extremely common. Urdu speaking Muslims from Delhi, Ambala, Western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh have still largely maintained their culture, peacefully, all over Punjab, despite common intermarriages.

This shows that Punjab is indeed a melting pot, care free, and a very hospitable place. i am not comparing it to other provinces.

There are people of Bihari origins living in Punjab, many from the Shia community. Punjab is a very cosmopolitan place, as you know, with Central Punjabis, Seraikis, Riastis, Cholistanis, Baloch, Pakhtoons, Potoharis, Urdu Speakers, Rangharis, Marwaris, Mewatis, Delhites, Kashmiris, Dogras etc

Hundreds of thousands of Pakhtoons are settled all over Punjab. They do their businesses silently, and trade. I havent heard of any resistance against them. So, i dont think people living in Punjab would care if Pakistanis of other ethnic origins, in this case Biharis in Bangladesh, return and start living there.

Its more of a matter of not being politically active.

This is certainly true, although I don't want to say it but I still will Punjabis are way more welcoming than any other ethnicity, I hear this crap all the time when Punjabis visit to KPK, Balouchistan and even Sindh the locals of these mentioned provinces always label them as Punjabis and are not very welcoming but Here in Punjab we never do this.

I think if they will not stop doing this then we should also roll out of stern actions, because enough is enough. Every province provides an equal share and all should be respected and all should be considered Pakistanis. But if they want to play this game then be our guest. We have a huge influx of Pathans who work in Punjab, we never complained they are taking our jobs but they often moan and bitch about Punjabis.

Sad but true.

I agree. And in South Punjab, without exaggeration, there are more than a million Baloch settled in the past century, not including older Baloch who settled before them. But they have integrated and become common locally. Taunsa is still a Baloch - Punjabi city.

This is proof, that Pakistan is an integrated cultural society. The Baloch are connected to Punjab, the Punjab to KPK, and Sindh to both Punjab and Balochistan. And of course Punjab and KPK with Jammu and Kashmir

Pakistan is an integrated nation more than we know. It is a united land!

You need some reality check, there is no punjabism in punjab due to serious caste differences, a jatt does not see an arain as a kin, a gujjar does not see a rajput as his kin despite speaking the same language. Go visit some villages in the heartland of punjab such as gujranwala or gujrat. People living in punjab (call them punjabi due to linguistic reasons) have their own caste based organizations and even hospitals and other charities. There is jatt ittehad, arain association, or rajput ittehad and so on. All of them exist all over punjab but you will never find a punjabi ittehad or something like that.

The point is very simple punjabis of different castes don't feel connected to each other on racial basis but rather only on linguistic and geographical basis. And it is wrong to presume that punjabis of different castes intermarry , this is not true for any area outside perhaps lahore or some other big cities, all castes in punjab marry only within their own caste due to racial sensitivities. Every new group that arrives in punjab becomes a new caste and follows the rules of the punjabi society, all the tribes such as arain, jatt, gujjars and rajputs have mostly come out of punjab from different areas and settled in various parts of punjab within the last thousand years. Kashmiri , pathan and balochs living in punjab are as much punjabi as any jatt, gujjar, arain or rajput because all of them are migrants from other areas , the difference is only of time scale, however all these groups were always living in geographically closer areas to punjab and hence there were significant cultural and liguistic overlaps between them which helped them assimilate in the existing populations of punjab.

Contrary to popular view most of the paksitani punjab was historically a forested area and only few settlements existed there in the last thousand years, it was only scarcely populated. The major population booms in this part of punjab (west punjab) occured during mughal times (just 500 years ago) and particularly later during british times (150 years ago) when most of the numerous clans within tribes like jatts, gujjars, arain and rajput etc. were settled in newly created agricultural colonies. Some of them came from east punjab (which was more anciently inhabited) , sindh, rajashtan and indian gujarat province all of which are geographically very close to pakistani punjab. This is the main reason why a jatt does not feel any racial connection with arains, gujjars or rajputs and vice versa because they had just settled in their current locations exactly the same way as the kashmiris, pathans, balochs or syeds from iran and centra asia have done in later times.

sounds like a lullaby really. day dreaming i should say, or nonsense

whose talking about racial connections ?? there are similar tribals confederations in all other provinces too

indian gujarat province is very close to Pakistan punjab ???? lol

there is no Punjabi ittehad ???? lol

The issue is not the ethnicity. The issue is the power struggle. It's been there since the British's time. Fast forward now to Karachi, the power becomes "who controls the city", inner city, MQM gangsters have got it and its their strong hold. The Pashtun fractions couldn't win or put a hold there, so they decided to control the outer ring (ports, transportation and all) so that's Karachi for you. Now add Taliban terrorists fractions into the mix, they heavily used the outer ring network to commute from FATA to Karachi, and use the transportation network for all kinds of supplies, etc and smuggled stuff, including terrorist transportation. One of the reason that the Bio-Metric system was put in place as ID's are very easy to buy or make as fake in Pakistan due to corruption.

I agree. If I've never had an issue in Lahore and Islamabad walking on the streets, I can't imagine someone coming from the other part of the country would. I noticed that Punjabi people meet you for who you are, as a human, and very genuine. They don't care about your race, origin and all. Punjabi people on both sides of the border are very hospitable and welcome even strangers that don't even look anything like them (me). It was a pleasure visiting Lahore and Islamabad a few times and then Delhi, Aagraa, Amristsar and a few other places. Great hospital people!! Too bad there are all these conflicts in between!!

Lol richest men in pakistan are not paying taxes and you are after poor pashtuns who smuggle small goods in buses and trucks. Rulers should pay full taxes first.

This is some crazy logic. So Rich are committing a crime if you are correct. So that means if they are committing a crime, the smugglers should be allowed to commit another crime too?

In US or anywhere civil, when two care break a red light, you can't tell the police officer that you "followed the first car" so they should get the ticket. Both of you broke the law. Similarly, if the rich aren't paying taxes, they should be reported to police, the courts and all. And if the smugglers are going smuggler, that's an entirely separate issue, they should be caught and send to jail. Can't hold one criminal off because the other one's free on the street.

You guys come up with the weirdest logic on the planet on stuff. Truly amazing to see and hear
