I think the 28 number says it all about why the US is so great. So many people get all worked up and do lots of threatening...but so few are actually willing to give it all up and do it. This happens EVERY election year. People are unhappy their person didn't get elected (remember when Bush got elected), make announcements that say they want to move to Canada or something..and never do.

Explanation

As you know the recent US election were a nail biter and the election was decided by mere few Thousand votes , sometimes few hundred votes

On Average Clinton had lead of 1.5 million votes over Trump but somehow Trump got into White house.


So my suggestion to Pakistani-US families is , think of it this way , you as Pakistani have dealt with far more grave and horrible leadership

Zardari , Nawaz Sharif 90's and now

So really Trump is no greater , a bad leader then these folks which Pakistanis have dealt with in past

Pakistani families should focus on growing their families / vote banks so in future they can vote for person that better represents them in political circle

LOL! Even your first link clarifies that a lot of pro-Hillary people think they can just pack their bags in a huff and move to Canada or something. It isn't that simple. You'll simply get deported back. So until they actually sit down and start pushing paperwork and get in line behind people from every other country their roadtrip is not going to last. The number of people who would actually go through that process is a lot smaller than simply the number of hot-headed people who jump in their cars in a huff and drive over the border.

LOL! Thousands of US citizens are not moving out of the US because of Trump. Thousands said they would move when Bill Clinton got elected. Thousands said that when George Bush got elected. Thousands said that when Obama got elected. The fact is not many left. There has been an increase of people living overseas renouncing their citizenship over the past 6 years due to the new tax laws ( a few thousand). But even then the number is relatively minuscule as there are 9 million US citizens living overseas.

The number who actually do leave because of Trump will be insignificant compared to the number who stay or want to move to the US. And trust me the number of the ones who do actually leave will be far lower than the number of applications submitted by citizens of EACH country on this planet (well almost every country since some are tiny islands) attempting to get into the US!

The number of people who submit applications to move to the US is around 6 million a year. 6 million...each year (even more if you add the people who just try and get in illegally). That's like the entire population of Libya. The waiting list due to accumulated years is insane. It's mind boggling. Some countries have a 30 year waiting list! Imagine that...people are willing to wait 30 years!!

This thread is sounding like another one where people were saying the US is coming out on top in the UN because the UN buys like $1B worth of services from the US...out of the $17B total UN spending/year. They tried to explain that the US pays less than $1B in membership fees. When I said "umm...so where is the UN getting much of the $17B from...could it be from money given beyond membership fees?" Nobody wanted to give answers but were firm the US only supplied less than $1B. I guess money does grow on trees. Somehow they think the membership fees paid by countries add up to $17B (sorry it is more like $5B...that other $12B to get to $17B is donated beyond the membership fees and a lot of that is from the US)

Yes, they will not move back, until they are kicked out so to speak, under extreme conditions. They are positive contributors, wealthy, well placed and it would be very unwise on Trumps part to make life difficult for them to survive. Even then they are so well adjusted, they will probably prefer united states to pakistan.
