MAFTA

Multilateral Agreement for a Free Trade Alliance

I propose formation of an economic block MAFTA composed of Pakistan, China, Afghanistan, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Bangla Desh, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, CARs, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Venezuella, Japan, Cuba, Bolivia, Ireland, Brunei Dar as Salam and Palestinian Authority for free trade without or reduced customs duties.

A MAFTA secretariat should be formed in Istanbul or Kuala Lumpur to coordinate all the activites.

Pakistan and Afghanistan in particular can benefit from adaptation of the advanced technologies from brotherly countries. An example is the recent Metro Bus project in various cities of Punjab with the help of Turkey.

Malaysia and Indonesia are rich in Palm oil and can meet the needs of member countries. Malaysia is also ahead in technology.

Pakistan is a big exporter of Textile and Leather goods.

Brazil is an important member of BRICS group and the biggest exporter in south America.

Saudi Arabia, Iran and Venezuela are major exporters of crude oil. Russia is also a big exporter of gas and can supply Pakistan through its purchased gas from Turkmenistan.

Japan is the technological giant of the East and is already helping Pakistan in various projects.

Cuba is known for its independent policy and is the leading voice of the leftist world and will help us in gaining more space and allies diplomatically. The Cuban doctors performed selflessly during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan.

Republic of Ireland is known for its independent foreign policy on the European mainland as opposed to Britain which is always toeing the American line.

Iran has patched up its differences with America and is emerging on world stage as a mature power.

Turkey is leading the Muslim world in moderate thought, technology, foreign investment and outreach.
You are saying about creating a group of nations to support pakistan

Narcon, India has over 1.2 billion people, whereas Malaysia has less than 35 million.

To give it perspective, Malaysia is 1/6th the size of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Of course it will be developed much faster. The same applies to Indonesia and Malaysia as comparative analysis.

.
No, Malaysia is not as secure as the Philippines. There is a state sponsored racial preference treatment in Malaysia called Bumiputera, their version of Affirmative Action. Effectively placing importance of ethnic Malays over Chinese - Malaysians and Indian- Malaysians.

I have been both to Malaysia and the PHilippines, and I prefer the Philippines hands down. People are much more welcoming, society is very open.

Malaysia huh, their competitiveness is more dwindling every passing days. Indonesia soon will catch them in every sector, we had open minded society, free press, there is no segregation between Indonesian people, liberalized market and economy, stable economics growth at 5 to 6 per-cent per year in which resistant to World economics recession, pro infrastructure building government and so on.

Please be serious here.

Malaysia in GDP/ppp is 3.5 times more than Indonesia. IMF predicts that Indonesia will grow by 6 % a year over the next 5 years and Malaysia will be 5 %.

At the expected rate of growth, Malaysia will be a developed country by 2025 and Indonesia will still not quite have reached middle income levels by then.

Don't get me wrong as Indonesia is doing well and has a bright future, but it is silly to think you can catch Malaysia anytime soon.

. . . .
So you are discrediting a country based on whom Japan gives importance?

I'm not discrediting Malaysia, it is just important to have a broader view when comparing them to India, which has more to offer to investors ergo, Japan.

Absolutely. Malaysia's Bumiputera system prevents facilitated growth on all segments of their population. They have much to learn from Singapore, Indonesia.

You compared Malaysia to Philippines based on how Japan views it not based on what reality is....Not sure Japan is the broader view....Were you to compare actual data, stats and reports....that would be a broader view not through the telescope of your country of origin alone!

As for investors...Malaysia started promoting home made stuff like Malaysian made goods so I am sorry to say if Japan found a bigger market in Philippines it doesnt mean Malaysia failed where Philippines succeed to attracting your investors but merely the fact they need your products! :enjoy:

You also have to look at the population Index. Indonesia has a population of 256 million, whereas Malaysia only has 30 million. Of course it will take time for a behemoth that is Indonesia to develop compared to say..Malaysia, which is literally 1/8th the size of Indonesia.

Are you kidding me? Malaysia is not a country we depend on in terms of imports, but it is they who depend on us for fiscal and investor growth. There are about 1,400 Japanese companies operating in Malaysia, creating more than 11,000 job opportunities. Compare this to the Philippines, which is also home to some 1,600 Japanese businesses. India is home to some 1,100 Japanese businesses. BUT, what attracts our attention, which is akin to other investors, is the fact that Malaysia has a Bumiputera system, where in which it places preference on ethnic Malays , and effectively keeps the Chinese Malays (over 30% of their population) and the Indian Malays (around 15-20% of their population) as second class citizens. Socially, they are unstable.

Yes Bumiputera is a problem in Malaysia but I dont hear anyone screaming it out as loud as those outside the country

The Chinese are happy coz they own half of the business or even more than half...The Indians now are screaming and are practically the only ones who do are those who are jobless coz they didnt have a proper education....Yes socially this was an error...However saying Philippines is more stable coz we do business with them is a laugh!
I am not talking about this article but about what you said and how you compared it and presented it in your previous posts!
