Why Kerala has no beef with beef.

Arreyyy its not about our texts and scriptures, its about common sense. Ever since the caste system was introduced some sections of the Hindus (like kashtriyas) were free to consume meat as they needed more calories for carrying out strenuous work. Infact kashmiri pandits, maithilis and south kanara brahmans 're all heavy meat eaters. (This must be the 6th or 7th time I'm posting this fact on this thread).
Can you expect a pure vegetarian to survive in the harsh winters of Russia??
1) In harsh winters meat is prolly the only food you'll find.
2) Meat is needed in harsh climates as it helps the body in producing more heat.
But again, if you're talking about strenuous work you'll need more protein and ergo more meat.
You are trying to steer the topic from Beef eating towards Meat consumption. The topic here is about "Beef is prohibited for Hindus and Cow slaughter is Prohibited and abhorred in Hinduism".

What has any of this have to do with secularism.

On the article and the writer ..... as always, true to form .... disgusting. At least we get confirmation that he's Christian. No surprises there. But good to know.
Christian? Lol

Okay lets see... definition of culture... Webster dictionary defines it as the beliefs, customs, arts, etc., of a particular society, group, place, or time.

Even if you were to take two neighboring states such as Kerala and Tamil Nadu you will find that they differ in almost everything....

And now don't start to prove that Tamil Nadu and Kerala have same culture.... I warn you you will find no takers :-)
LoL, even for definition of your own culture, you are using the Western perspective and their works."Webster Dictionary".
Then what is left of your language, customs, culture if you are always using the crutches of Western perspective?

They are very similar with Tamil speakers and Malayalam speakers easily understanding each other's language. Same oiled hair, same saree clad females, same stress on rice in food, same meen curry loving cultures. Sure there are differences, but the similarities are far more than differences.

Go and have a chat with one of them :-)

You mean they wear the same kind of dress, eat the same kind of food, have the same kind of habits, beliefs and culture, so the only way I can find out is by talking to them ?

Because no one is interested on one's own personal definition's..... same like standards for heights, weights, length etc....

Oh so you let others define you what you wear, eat, sleep, look like etc,?
Why are you taking Western perspective even to define your way of life, home, culture?

I gave you an easy way to identify in a group....but then it's up to you.... you can have your own way.

I am not the one trying to portray difference between the Tamils and malayalees. I really don't are who is who since I consider them both having a common cultural and civilizational thread binding them together.

How does it matter? More opportunity for you to snitch on, I guess. Have fun.

LOL... that was spot on
