Because we do not know who St. Valentine is  ............. what has he done for India ? :cheesy:

He was not an Indian and it superimposes over our culture. Are we Romans ?

India is a land of diversity.... Most states have their own language, tradition, foods.... It cannot be defined as a single culture.

Christian are idolaters. They worship a torture devise or an image of a white man on that torture device.

Wrong he is a man of orient....

Wrong....India is a land with a common culture. States have their own language but a common civilizational thread, they have their own tradition but in line with dharma and a common cultural values, they have their own food but a common value system regarding wasting it.

Just because your ancestors were divorced from their culture and tradition, does not mean the rest of India is. Indian from North to south find comfort in a common dharmic culture. That is why south Indians go to kashi and Kailash and North Indians come to Tirupati and Rameshwaram.

They myth of Jesus was that he was an ARAB. Stop trying to make him sound exotic. Of course there is no historical evidence of him ever having existed.

Christianity is divided on that. While the RC's, Anglicans, Lutherans do have the image and figure of Christ on the cross, the evangelicals, Jehova's Witness, and others don't. In fact the latter are more talibani than taliban in their opposition to idol worship. The former group too find various reasons to explain away why they are not idolators.

Worship of the cross is more or less common.

So which other states celebrate a week long Onam or a week of Pongal.... I don't see tamilians celebrating Holi or raksha bandhan.... even though every festival comes under the same religion......

And don't insult other religions....

Durations may wary, but Pongal is celebrated as sankrantri in many many parts of India. All Hindu houses have the tradition of lighting lamp in the morning and evening. They have toranas decorating their doorways, they have rangoli in front of their house, the women wear sari throughout the landscape. So it is one huge common culture with subtle superficial regional variations.

Onam is a HARVEST Festival. Are you saying there are no other harvest festival in India ?

Pongal is also a HARVEST Festival and it is celebrated as Makar sankrati by other Hindus of different states.

Holi is celebrated in Tamil Nadu........its called Kamavilas or Kaman Pandigai or Kaman Dahanam. It is the Indian equivalent of Valentines day.

ALL these festivals are however calculated as per a common HINDU CALENDAR. See how that works ?

And don't insult other religions....

Funny thing to say on a thread that is devoted to insulting Hindu beliefs of preventing Cow Slaughter  .............. your hypocrisy and Ignorance has few parallels. "wise" owl indeed :cheesy:

Image of Tamils celebrating kaman pandigai........... just to prevent the ignorance from spreading further.

Agree completely.... especially the last two words....

Thanks, see it's not a imported concept at all.... next time any one questions me on a valentines day I can say I am celebrating Kaman Pandigai but only the date is different....

No one is insulting the Hindu religion in this thread but only discussing the regional variations in the Hindu belief held by different states. But what you are doing is insulting the other religions God.

.
LOL............why are you barking like a dog ?

The majority of muslim in kerala were converted by Tipu. No amount of name calling is going to change this reality

Mallu muslims being the oldest Islamic group has nothing to do with it. (Not that you have demonstrated any logic earlier) That is just a pathetic Red Herring. Typical fandoo and illogical you.
I am not a Muslim,So personally i don't want to DEFEND them...
Kerala is a very much unique state in India..Christianity and Islam of Kerala are not recent arrivals and are very much ancient like Hinduism in Kerala..You are confusing it with some Portuguese converted Marathi Rice Christians or some baniya Muslims from the slums of Mumbai,i think...Syrian Christhans of Kerala are one among the very first Christianized communities in the WORLD,not just in India or Asia...Same in the case of Kerala Muslims...May be you are blinded/braimwashed by some hardcore religious nutjobs or ideologies, thats what you like denying all these historical facts ..thats not my problem... You are free to deny or accept all these, but the fact remains...bye bye...

.
Cow slaughter was banned in the Sikh and Maratha empires

Surprising face is that Haider Ali of Mysore (Tipu sultan's father) threatened to chop of anyone’s hands as punishment if they ever indulged in Cow slaughter.

During the Rebellion of 1857, the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar made cow slaughter a crime punishable by death.

Its ironic that in Free India, we still cannot do what a Muslim Emperor did a 150 years back.

I know you are a christian so why would I call you a muslim ? ? :cheesy: ...... you are a christian fandoo.

You are abjktu and we have already had this same argument more than once and you have lost every-time. I cannot indulge you anymore on legitimising your fandoo claims.

Thanks, see it's not a imported concept at all.... next time any one questions me on a valentines day I can say I am celebrating Kaman Pandigai but only the date is different....

How can love be an imported concept ? ........ even animals love. When do you celebrate Kaman Pandigai ? which date ?

No one is insulting the Hindu religion in this thread but only discussing the regional variations in the Hindu belief held by different states. But what you are doing is insulting the other religions God.

There really is no evidence of Jesus being a real man, so how is that an insult ?

Even in the myth, Jesus is an Arab from Arabia, Nazareth to be more precise. how is that an insult ?

When we can debate a hindu belief, we can certainly debate a christian belief :coffee: ............... stop being a Fanatic like the church :azn: ........... learn to be like the RSS, more open minded.

. .
I know you are a christian so why would I call you a muslim ? ? :cheesy: ...... you are a christian fandoo.
So calling Jesus a white outsider is nothing fandoo... poking fun on Sikh gurus is nothing fandoo ..Aren't you the very same Manvan??
Look at yourself before calling others fandoo...
Like i said earlier,These are all historical facts..If you want to know more about Kerala Christians and Muslims, just do google..There are plenty of related authentic sites available in the internet(Care to avoid Sanghi websites)..

You can certainly have a debate about any religion but only don't hurl personal insults on their Gods... they can also return the same.

And for evidence do you know how the world history is divided as "BC and AD"

I am saying that jesus was probably not real. how is that fandoo ? I said that his myth shows him as an Arab, how is that fandoo ? I said Most churches have image of a White European christ, how is that fandoo ? All are facts.

I try to pay back in the same coin, if that makes me "fandoo" so be it. I do not care for your certificates.

If you want to claim "historical facts" provide EVIDENCE. Not links to dubious sites making fantastic claims.

Jesus is not "god" so how is this even relevant ?

There is BC and AD because of the Gregorian calendar  .......... the time frame is just a convenient reference point. It is not even accurate or authentic. Not even the date of christ supposed birth or death is authentic. LOL. what kind of evidence is that ?

.
The operative word there was "superficial, subtle."

Okay lets see... definition of culture... Webster dictionary defines it as the beliefs, customs, arts, etc., of a particular society, group, place, or time.

Even if you were to take two neighboring states such as Kerala and Tamil Nadu you will find that they differ in almost everything....

And now don't start to prove that Tamil Nadu and Kerala have same culture.... I warn you you will find no takers :-)
