Indian Army never had much problem in dealing with Pakistan even when Pakistan got help from the major powers. India has always stand on its own and today has reached a status that no one can deny the achievements of the Indian nation.

United States not only refused to come to Pakistan aid under the terms of the Agreement of Cooperation, but issued a statement declaring its neutrality while also cutting off military supplies.

1.25 billion people and huge Land mass is our strength.

Not all .. Govt procurement sucks not to mention Redtape and Delays.

But things changed on ground and led to an increase in the size of the army by almost 33 per cent. It also saw the raising of divisions which were tailored to the needs of mountain warfare.

First of all I don't know who teaches you dumb-dumbs history or if you are deliberately playing the fool. But let me humor you for this post.

The Panchsheel met its end just three months after its signing, when the Chinese were found violating Indian borders in Ladakh in late-1954.

Here you are quoting that the Panchsheel ended in 1954 - EIGHT YEARS prior to 1962 attack - and you said the 1962 was a complete surprise? Why is it a surprise if 8 years ago Indians knew of Chinese aggression at the borders?

PRC was fighting with the Tibetans before 1951 and by 1954 Uighurs refugees crossed into Tajakistan SSR , Tibetans refugees started to pour in India from 1959 as the Dalai Lama fled to India and took refugee along with 100,000 Tibetan refugees. PRC used heavy handed policy in the region and during the 1962 war, Indian forces were hardly 12,000 stationed .

Indians stationed troops in forward areas as well. If you don't know history then read it first instead of relying on your imagination. India was expecting an attack from China. The alibi of Indians considering Chinese as brothers and back-stabbed at the last minute was a myth. Both countries were suspicious of each other.

And it does not mater whether Indian forces were 12,000 or what the number was (and the number would be more than 12,000) but them retreating before an advancing army was a fatal mistake. It was American intervention and China blinking first that made PLA retreat from the occupied Indian territory or else today the entire north-eastern region would have been under Chinese occupation.

The Chinese faced virtually no resistance from Indian army in 1962.

Pakistan even during that time played the Kashmir card and engaged with Chinese and accepted Chinese soverignity over the territory which was dispute between India and China and shortly after the Chinese Nuclear test in 1964, Pakistan was fully armed by the Chinese in 1965 war but Indians were prepared during that time.

Pakistan engaged China after 1962 war. You must be a special case if you think the Chinese would wait for support from Pakistan to attack India. Militarily India was never a match for China post 1947 and even today the nervousness is clear when India handles China. The Chinese always had numerical or qualitative superiority. It is only after 1998 nuclear tests that the Chinese had to step carefully.

But things changed on ground and led to an increase in the size of the army by almost 33 per cent. It also saw the raising of divisions which were tailored to the needs of mountain warfare.

And how many mountain divisions were raised to tackle Chinese aggression? How many artillery pieces were deployed to face China?

India is still not prepared to stare down China on its eastern border.

Did some German name this fort?

On topic, 1965 was a stalemate for both sides. Pakistan was successful in launching a surprise attack and Indians took a lot of time to regroup an fight back. Pakistan suffered casualties as well and it is a negative point for Pakistan to suffer casualties as such after seizing the initiative.

Territory was lost by both sides as well.

India’s mountain warfare units were vastly expanded after the 1962 war, with the creation of 6 Mountain Division.

it was raised March 26, 1963 at Nanital, Uttar Pradesh, one of ten mountain divisions raised/authorized because
of the Sino-Indian War 1962. Later it shifted to Bareilly, where it remains to this day. It was assigned to protect the mountain districts of the state

There are similar photos of Pakistani failures on the battlefield. SSG commandos were exposed and lynched by village folk. Pakistani tanks burning etc.

Both sides suffered losses.
