Why is South India paying for North India

"Friction" really ? where is the brotherhood - do you lot intermarry or do they even respect your tongue ? they collect taxes pretty well though. Some average south indian saying blah blah about india because he was taught some fake contrived patriotism is not what is being discussed here.

North Indians don't even intermarry among themselves, each to his own.

UPites don't marry Biharis, Haryanvis don't marry UPites etc.

At my company's office in North India, we recently hired a bunch of Keralites, because they were the most qualified. All were Hindu.

Now we are being unofficially requested that we should not be hiring "Mallus" (actual word used) for that office because they all cluster in a corner and talk in Malayalam and eat beef. Lol!!!

That mallu will never be accepted in north as part with other northerners. This in itself is not specially bad. After people with different languages have difficulty in accepting each other. But what is worse is that the mallu is disrespected for his language and taxed and still made to say mera bharat mahan. And the mallu upper castes jump on it because only bharat will keep the lower caste mallus from overthrowing his social order.

Very true. I am just using north india to differentiate with south. But both south and north themsevles are composed of many nationalities all of them hurting under India. And also since most indians are organized primitively on basis of caste they dont even understand the meaning of brotherhood. Any wonder India ranks so low on happiness index much much below even pakistan.

The caste is strong, more so because it's tied to resources but Indian identity is nevertheless present in nearly all groups, simply because of being drilled into the heads since at least 1900s.
