What's new

Why is KSA hosting Pak, Turk and Egypt leaders in same week?

Iran is gonna get pissed off at this.

Pakistan can help against ISIS but not against toppling Asad Regime.
Basically its Arabs vs Persians.......The main player here are KSA, GCC & Egypt on one side and Iran, Syria, Hizbullah & Houthis(yemen) on the other.

Pakistan & Turkey calls only to beef up the alliance and tries to makes it a pure Shia-Sunni conflict.

@Mosamania

If Iran goes nuclear and Saudi, Turkey & Egypt follow suit, that will create a long term balance of power.

Yeah, that's why Iran supplied arms for Pakistan in fights against India? You are another dumb I guess.
Anyway, I personally think that Iran was wrong in supporting Pakistan. India has a much bigger economy, and more potentials to become a global power.

You are assuming too much.

Don't worry as long as there are Arabs in this world, Iran can only dream about achieving any kind of hegemony.

Egypt is a brotherly Arab country and a neighbor while Turkey is the only equal in terms of financial power and stability in the ME. KSA and Turkey view many of the challenges in the same light while Pakistan is a very old and trusted friend.

Iran going nuclear will undoubtedly mean that KSA, Egypt and Turkey (on the long run) would follow suit. The GCC (KSA and UAE for now) is already investing heavily in nuclear energy and so is Egypt. Turkey will probably follow suit if they have not already.

Hi al-Hasani. :)

I think Iran might have been the main topic of discussion.

more precisely, the real topic is what to do against Iran. So, it's really ridiculous to invite Iran.

What would be each country's role?
Pakistan& Egypt >> Cannon fodder
Turkey>>Transferring fighters(terrorists or freedom fighters or oppositions or whatever term you guys call them in your dictionary) to Syria and providing logistics
KSA>>Finance and providing political support in West

2 points:
1. Such alliance would not last long for obvious reasons.
2. It's new to see Pakistan openly playing against Iran. Iran's reaction regarding India-Pak conflicts is what I am waiting to see in future.

I dont think Pakistan would be part of an anti-Iran alliance.
They have shaky relations with Afghan government, not to mention all the taliban they previously supported has given them serious blow back, as the Pakistani taliban has murdered hundreds of their security personnel.
And I dont think we have to mention the strategic rivaly/hostility with 1,3 billion people India on its south-eastern front.
To then open new front and be hostile towards Iran and essentially surround themselves with 3 hostile states, does not make a whole lot of sense from a security point of view.
I know most Pakistanis have closer affiliation and affection for the Arabian peninsula and Turkey, but they are far away from their borders, unlike Iran, so Pakistan would be best served to not get involved and instead remain a neutral country.

Iran has always chosen Pak over India and I don't see that changing in the future. And I don't think Pakistan has done anything against Iran so far.

Is Saudia making a coalition against ISIS?
Probably the opposite. I won't be surprised if Al Baghdadi is present in the meeting.

Hi al-Hasani. :)

Who is that gentleman? I like his name.

Muscat (8000 year old city) lies just across Karachi (by far biggest city in Pakistan and Pakistan's window to the outside world). You just have to cross a bit of the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea.

It's not really that far away. Some would argue that it is quite close.

Anyway I don't know where Pakistan comes into the picture. They are not located in the ME nor do we expect them to take any "sides".

Obviously the security situation, economic cooperation and MB/ISIS will be the main topics of King Salman, Al-Sisi and Erdogan. It's not like all 3 are going to negotiate at the same time. Those leaders are just in KSA for state visits. Erdogan also performed Umrah. King Salman was in Turkey last month too.

Erdogan's Turkish Arab wife is probably doing some work behind the lines.:sarcastic:

Anyway somebody should tap the rooms so we mortals can get to know what the hell they are discussing.

Al-Sisi the gentleman and field marshal.

"Namak Nashnas"
You don’t recognise my salt i.e. we're ungrateful.

You're dealing with the Nawaz administration who are very pro-Saudi bro. Wait till it goes back to the Bhuttos and it is pro-Iran again. It's politics, not recognising whether someone is grateful or not.
