What's new

Why is India becoming so radicalised and right winged?

Radicalism in India is rising wont you agree? Just read any comment section and see the hatred towards muslims.
the % of people who use internet is still low in India ,of that the people who come to comments section and comment are even less.that a negligible percentage which dsnt reflect the ground situation,if there was something like that wont you think it would have been all over the news.

pakistani brethren should mind their own business. india is no paradise, but its better than the paradise west to its borders.

I understand what you mean. But the extreme anti muslim atittude of the hindu Indians has increased. That is worrying. The safety of the muslims are at risk, wont you say?

The safety is not at risk. Despite the ill-will towards Muslims as a group every Indian Hindu, even if he is in the RSS, will have several Muslim friends. On an individual level Muslim-Hindu relationship will always be good in India. An average Muslim does not discuss religion or its associated politics with his Hindu friend and vice versa. In India religion is a private affair. This makes sure, on an individual level the relationships are often good. So unless there is a huge spark like the one that happened in Godhra, there is no fear of safety for anybody.

But luckily muslims in India are 20% unlike the <1% Jews in Nazi Germany. Its more than enough for complete destruction of India in a civil war if the situation arises

So, in your own words, Indian Muslims are in sufficient numbers to defend themselves, aren't they? What is your fear? That India will be destroyed. You would actually want that won't you?

In any case, India's Muslim population is not 20%, but around 14%, unless of course, you count all the Sikhs, Jains and Christians too as Muslims. In Gujarat they were 9%. If that didn't cause a civil war in that state, it won't in the whole of India. For a civil war to happen, Muslims have to be concentrated in one place. That is not the case, except for J&K.

Lately go to any news comment section of India. And if its a story about Yakub Memon you will see it filled with hatred towards the muslim community of India.

Looks like Indian hatred for their fellow citizens has increased. I fear for my brothers across the borders.

Indians please enlighten us of the situation on the ground.

See, unlike Pakistan Indians are not used to explosions and terror attacks ( no offence intended) therefore the nation has not forgotten the Mumbai attacks.

When its perpetrator is about to get hanged and calls are made against it more by Non Muslims than Muslims old wounds surface.

The calls are made for shallow political reasons, we also find some people supporting the Naxalites too for the same reasons.

In no way is a Muslim any more at risk than what he was any time before. One has to be an Indian to read what the Indian media says.

As regards your brothers & other issues I think @Josef K has brought out things very clearly.

India is democratic country. their is no hatred towards the Muslim community of India.
Don't forget Sacrifices of Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM...He is also an Muslim. But stil whole country followed him like an ideal Indian...:yahoo:

sadly yes. I am oppressed Indian Muslim.:(

If you feel oppressed in India then there is no country in this World where you will feel otherwise. There is no remedy for your minority-mentality.
Sorry, no extra perks for you in India just because of you belong to a certain religious community. You might consider migrating to somewhere else where they give religion-based preferential treatment.

We may consider it a statistical sample.

When a fringe element in the Muslim community decides to raise Yakub Memon to the level of a martyr and some of the so called "intelligentsia", in their usual manner to serve their political masters, try to create a victimhood complex among Indian Muslims naturally there will be a reactionary feeling from the side of Hindus.

Take this. There was the funeral of one of the most loved man in India yesterday, who also happens to be a Muslim. I was watching the TV at 10 and Timesnow was covering it live. Then I switched to other channels. NDTV, CNN-IBN, Headlines today were covering the Memon hanging and bringing in panelists to talk about Memon mostly in a sympathetic manner.

Now the Hindu who has seen that the Supreme court working overtime throughout the night to see if the death penalty could be halted (mind you, the SC judge was hearing the case well into sunrise), would certainly wonder why so much concern for a terror accomplice. Then, even after he is hanged, the TV and print media which should have been covering the funeral of a much loved Indian Muslim, was covering the hanging of a much hated Indian Muslim. Who is at fault here? Is Kalam less important than Memon? Aren't these channels, in their desperation to create a victimhood complex among Indian Muslims, in turn actually creating a reactionary sentiment from Hindus who instead would have wanted them to praise an Indian Muslim whose funeral was being held?

Listen to this video from 1:00:00, where one of the most hated Indian to Pakistanis explains how the victimhood complex is detrimental to the Muslims themselves.

In a nutshell, the victimhood complex created by politicians and perpetuated by the media is in fact hurting the Indian Muslims most as it elicits an adverse response from the Hindu community.

They don't think of you as brothers. Trust me. I know.

Lovely post Josef bro. These were exactly my feelings of frustration last evening.

Bastard television channels gave 95% airtime to a hanged terrorist.

And 5% air time to the last rites of a national hero. A true Bharat Ratna.

And I want to puke on Tushar Gandhi. For what he represents, and the live opportunity it provides.

There is no hatred towards Muslims, there is hatred towards terrorists and terrorists sympathisers which I believe would be a case in Pakistan too

They kill people in extra judicious killing, They want to hang the people for blasphemy, they want to hang the people in military court short trial and sharia court judgement but they deny us the right to hang a terrorist of 270 people only because the people killed were Hindus.

Indian society is like Germany in 1933. And none Hindus in India is like the Jews of Nazi. Germany. They better get out while they can.

Lankan Buddhist and Indian Hindus are under the delusion that they are of Aryan stock and see Dravidian aka Tamils as their traditional enemy, who need to be wiped out - physically or culturally. It has nothing to do with religion but the identification with a false identity, the 2009 India co-sponsored genocide of 100,000 Tamils in Lanka is a testimony to this deluded mindset

Just like the Jews , Tamils are in danger of extinction in India and Sri Lanka which are their traditional homelands .

Central to the Mahavamsa is the ongoing antagonism between the flourishing Buddhist civilisation established by the Aryan Sinhalese and the menacing south Indian, Dravidian (dark skinned) and Hindu kingdoms in the Tamil speaking areas of south India. Repeated invasions by the Tamil speaking Dravidian kingdoms of south India not only destroyed the pristine Buddhist settlements across the island but also left a residue of Tamils across the north-east.

Lost in translation: Dravidians, Aryans and Buddhism in India and Sri Lanka
