With that much money involved , Rafale is not going to fulfill the required squadron numbers.
But the minimal squadrons of Rafale is expected to bring useful technology and co operation which will help domestic and JV projects attain that numbers at faster/ quicker rate.
If India remains Rafale's partner, the next gen Rafale will be a joint Indo-french project and these same production lines will be producing them for domestic and export purposes.

Its a give and take scenario that was imposed upon us by the mismanagement of policies and of the agencies involved in it which has made us loose/waste decades of time in this field.

China have dispute with every power in south Asia Even Mighty Japan they are surrounded by Nato bases all over south china sea and in few years India will Ally for Counter Offensive against them .Chinese with low standard tech cant Match this:lol::lol:in A Decade or So india will have 3-4 operational CBG with f-35 and other tech from ISraelis along with Japanese and US and Nato Fleets in South Asia

I was talkin about Gripen. Anyhow for jf17 49 are inducted and 110 are on order.
40 mk1 will get till 2018 plus more will ordered on MOD will Plus 83 LCA mk2 ordered.100 GE414 engines purchased from US for next phase of the LCA which MK2

I think as seen in wikipedia six generation fighter France interested to directly jump on six gen instead fifth gen...... so laser war will be their in next generation Rafale, I thiink so.

50 JF-17 built. Only 2 LCA built and they are not cleared yet still being tested.

Its really interesting to see Indian vs Indian on a China-Pakistan project.

Rafale is a good aircraft which was produced after a legacy of fighter aircrafts by the French. The French were so up beat to this fighter aircraft that they left the Eurofighter project.

The only reason was that they did not want to be submitting to the other partner European countries plan to close the Dasult name. The possibility this fighter aircraft gives is the next version would be a stealth aircraft, but the downside was the cost and hence no sales. Further more end of Cold War which made sure that the European States were less interested in the products.

Tejas: Not exactly known but 5.5 to 6.0 tons

Officially given with 6.5t so no advantage for LCA here

Tejas: Tejas is small and uses More composite in air frame

Composites benefits to an extent, the real change compared to older gen fighters is the use of coatings and Gripen is developed with a low RCS in mind just as any modern 4th gen fighter, including the use of composites, coatings and radar blockers.

RADAR:

Tejas: Tejas has 650 MM Dia Radar with pick Power of 10.5 KW

Grippen: Grippen has 600 MM Dia Radar with pick Power of 8.5 KW

Advantage: Tejas

Oh please, we neither know the diameter, nor do we have official specs so far, what we do know however is, that it has performance problems because of the nose issue, so claiming an advantage for LCA at this point is totally unrealistic!

It doesn't matter if LCA is better than Gripen, but how close it can be, because it never was meant to be a hi end fighter, but our first own modern fighter project. The closer we can bring it to Gripen standards, the more we have catched up in modern aero development. We have made good progress in materials, coatings, avionics an EW and can compare LCA with western fighters in these fields, are on a good way at weapons, but still struggle in fighter design.
So lets not make LCA better or more special than it is just to make a point, but be happy about the progress it gives India in the aero sector and the successful development parts.
