Why india has to ally with US

It is China that is supposedly planning the "string of pearls" and arming dangerous states in our neighborhood with nukes and offensive cruise missile.

They have no business in South Asia and in Gilgit-Baltistan.

South China sea is international waters as per all international laws. Being a lackey shouldn't take one so far.

dude you are debating with aguy , so blinded with his bias that does not read links provided. How can you debate a guy who is hell bent on calling the earth flat?

Southeast Asian states are in agreement that Great Power engagement, dialogue and a code of conduct are required in order to contain the violent conflicts that may erupt from the numerous maritime boundary and sovereignty disputes in the South China Sea.

thats 2010 article you posted and mine is 2011 . You want him to have crystall ball and see into the future when he made that statement in 2010 - oops  Go update you hate India folders links

There has been no accusation from India to China. Their first statement still stands, unless they make another one.

Your link was just a ToI report based on a lot of conjecture, and no actual evidence was provided.

And if you had read that article carefully, you would have seen this is what they wrote: "Myanmar-based PLA".

.
Again, you guys avoid the central question.

Yes, there are territorial disputes between China and various countries. These countries are concerned about it and are dealing with it individually. None of these countries has volunteered to be the deputy sheriff on behalf of others.

Only India has these delusions and has offered itself up for the role.

If India was dealing with mutual issues in AP, etc. that would be perfectly understandable. It is this business of running around ensuring 'clean economic zones for all' which is the hallmark of a wannabe hegemon.

You are not able to see the basic facts.

As per international rules of maritime borders, those areas are Vietnamese.

We have no navy there.

The delusions are all yours. Because of the insecurities, you are not able to see basic facts in the correct light.

The so-called issues have been addressed. Try reading again.

OK, if you say so. ;)

As for the rest of your personal rant and bringing Pakistan into the mix, I expected nothing better from you.

Yes, Pakistan is not a factor here. Except for your insecurities about it being abandoned by its only patron.

.
You guys hate each other even more than we and Pakistanis.

When cross-border terrorists come from our neighbouring countries and start blowing up hotels in our financial capital, then maybe I will take that statement seriously.

We haven't had any violent conflict with any neighbour for over 30 years.

And we are the number #1 trading partner for almost all our neighbouring countries.

But you had some Pakistan trained terrorists come and kill your citizens? As per your own Chinese officials?

I saw that both Chinese and your neighbors take great pride in calling each other slaves and in pointing out the worst atrocities and genocides on each other.

Some even want to take credit for those atrocities! Even when they were perpetrated by others. Or in claiming that Chinese are discriminated in their countries (as if it is a matter of pride)! Or that they are not even allowed to be born (in North Korea).

when faced with same TOI having an article , you think our Border Cops stand and give interviews without it coming from higher ups... okaey dookie. selective hearing ... LOL :P

LOL you ask me to read the article pretending it excludes China ?:D

" In the first major evidence of Maoist link with China, the special cell of Delhi Police has learnt that a top guerrilla is operating an arms syndicate from there. Interrogation of two PLA leaders arrested last week revealed that the chief of the political wing of the People's Liberation Army - Irengbam Chaoren - is hiding in China. "
Update your hate India links- it's become a joke now for us.

No Chinese official blamed Pakistan for anything like that. If you check the Chinese media reports, even the original statements were in reference to the Afghanistan/Pakistan border areas. And later the Chinese government clarified several times that it fully supports Pakistan.

Well, why don't we go for a neutral source then?

Global Peace Index - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The fact is that India has been in violent cross-border conflict with their neighbours up until today, accusing Pakistan for the Mumbai bombings, and accusing groups in Bangladesh (HuJI) for the New Delhi bombings.

China on the other hand, has not had any violent conflict with any neighbour for over 30 years. Hence the ranking.

While your actual govt is concerned about it - you maybe not :D

Ooooooooooooops- China considers new law better defining terrorism

this thread neither offers anything new nor insightful, to be honest.

we all know where and how and in what areas the hindustanis and the yanks see eye to eye. They want to contain China.

i dont think it will be a successful strategy, overall.

Provide a link that actually works and that shows a military alliance between ASEAN nations to counter China.

I notice you keep talking about "insecurities". Are you still hurting from my comment -- several months ago -- about Indian insecurities? Good lord, I can't believe you are still hurting from that comment..... Pathetic.

Once again, Pakistan is not the issue here, although I do understand your desperate attempt to drag it into every discussion.

The 'facts' have been addressed: Japan is not out patrolling the South China seas. Vietnam is not sending patrol boats to the Korean peninsula.

India has taken it upon itself to provide 'clean economic zones for all'. Did Vietnam ask India to protect its waters? Did Japan? India is the self-appointed deputy sheriff.

Haha not even that, let's see him show even ONE nation in South East Asia that openly calls for an anti-China alliance.

Every single one of those countries, is openly calling for more cooperation with China. Not a single one of them has declared us an enemy.

haha - they are not all bonding together ( their navies) they are doing themselves in their zones and are already allies of the US. the point is not everyone holds hands, each are looking for its interest, its zone of travel( as is India). But they are not powerful enough as an entity by themselves to take on china- hence ally w/ US... duh.

did vietnam ask India? yes - they invited India and said do the exploration. India was in International free waters ( do you what that means?) when China confronted it illegally. I've also provided you link on common secruity concerns discussed by each country ASEAN and eachother. Of course it would mean you would have to read it!

Asian ministers discuss South China Sea, security

Territorial disputes and flare-ups in the South China Sea were expected to take center stage at Asia's largest security forum this week, after Vietnam and the Philippines accused China of interfering in efforts to explore for oil and gas.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono noted ahead of closed-door talks that it's been nine years since the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations and China agreed to negotiate a code of conduct in the potentially resource-rich waterway.

"Things do not necessarily have to be this slow," he said, adding "some progress" was long-overdue.

He said ASEAN needed to send a "strong signal" to the world that the situation in the region, a strategical shipping lane, is "predictable" and "manageable."

Southeast Asian ministers - on Indonesia's resort island of Bali for their annual get-together - will be joined later in the week by officials from Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United States for the much more important ASEAN Regional Forum.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, now in India, will be among those attending. So will China's foreign minister, Yang Jiechi, and Pak Ui-Chun of North Korea.

Hot topics on the table include Pyongyang's nuclear crisis, the slow pace of democratic reforms in military-dominated Myanmar and international efforts to end a border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand.

Overshadowing talks, however, will be conflicting claims in the South China Sea.

The sparring is primarily over the Spratlys, nearby Paracels and Scarborough Shoal, a slew of tiny, mostly uninhabited islands, some no more than a half-submerged coral reef and surrounding waters.

China claims the entire area, a large swath extending far from its southern coast and overlapping with the 230-mile (370-kilometer) exclusive economic zones of the Philippines and Vietnam and, to a lesser degree, of Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan.

The smaller Southeast Asian nations often look for backing from the U.S., which is eager to protect strategic shipping lanes in the waters and deepen its own military ties in the region. That only serves to further irk China.

Clinton was expected to touch on the issue, but only indirectly, sources in Washington told reporters.

Beijing has already called recent U.S. military exercises in the region inappropriate, though they were planned well before the latest dispute.

Vietnam says on two occasions since May, China cut cables used by its ships to conduct seismic tests on the sea floor. And last week, just as it appeared that temperatures were starting to cool, a Vietnamese border official alleged that a fishing boat was chased and attacked by Chinese soldiers, who beat up the boat captain.

The Philippines has similar complaints, saying in March two Chinese naval ships threatened one of their ships exploring for gas in an area known as Red Bank.

Beijing, while denying cutting cables, acknowledges incidents took place in what it said was its waters.

Southeast Asian officials are expected to hold their first direct talks with China on Wednesday.
