Why India has never seen a military dictatorship

.
there is no one who is the boss. But Military is mature as they know their own family form civilians
well what would you suggest the reason that Indian army never attempted a coup where as pak army did. They were from the same british army.
Under Indian law, PM is the most powerful individual. Nobody has unlimited power of course, there are checks and balances.

I heard our EX ISI CHIEF Durrani saying, that Military is a tradition and gains support of general public as Pakistan region is situated in that geographical location which faces lot's of invasions. Hence a separate identity of Military has come out of nothing into limelight and pride , by defending nation from invasions. Martial Culture.

external influence. In India coup would happen if some external hand is successful in creating that situation. In Pakistan its usa.

. . . . .
given the readiness of the indian military high-command to participate in western bloc operations early on and given the capitalist nature of indian establishment, it is foolish to reason why india has never seen military coups.

there has been no nasser, gaddafi or hugo chavez... sad.
Nasser (Well, he is one of the Arab leader which I admire) kicked by Jews in 1967
Gaddafi (Tharki , Psycho & stupid but Libya was lot better under his rule) raped even during his last breath
Hugo Chavez ( Arrogant & Stupid) bring misery to Venezuela despite have one of the largest oil reserves.

Martial pride is not unique to pakistan. the usa has a lot of martial pride, jsdf, jews, brits, germs and us indians.
The thing is even though it is okay at a certian juncture to have martial law, power corrupts and the PA has too much power back then and now. they don't want to let it go because they have a choice in having it.
What Kim Jong Ill give up his power or the CCP? Nah. Indra Gandhi didn't wanna give it up either.
you can not concentrate too much power in a single individual/organization.
I remember reading how the PLA has issues with the CCP and the CCP tries to control PLA, and to offset the power imbalance they have a larger internal army/police PAP paramilitary.
For India, its good the Army has taken a back seat, while parliment works even if poorly.
