Why Hong Kong should send back ‘asylum’ seekers from India

This is the type of Indians that HK valued and respect, not those low caste uneducated criminals

It is not good to say high and low caste. There are plenty of smart educated "low caste" people in India and it increases each year.

Now if you want to deport asylum seekers for whatever reason....HK can do that its fine. Each country decides who is genuine and who is not.

Don't bring caste into it.

I lived in Hong Kong during a large part of my childhood so you know. There is good and bad people like very place in the world.

Dude, quit changing the subject. Canadian Chinese pawn indians anyday. Why pull SG in? Why use 2010 stats? :rofl:

Because Andrewjin implied non-Chinese are economically detrimental to Singapore economy, so I posted the Singapore statistics for him to see on the household income by ethnic group. You can see his statement may have applied somewhat in 2000....but it certainly does not apply in 2010.

Now if you have more recent statistics on household income for Singapore by ethnic group, lets see it. They still have to release their census data as far as I am aware.

So no, I didn't change the subject at all.....if people drag other countries in beyond the original topic....I will respond to them.

Now stick to posting facts and data only and not generalised personal statements.

.
AndrewJin - I had a lot of respect for you with your pragmatic posts in the past. Let's stick to ANTI-FAKE-ASYLUM-SEEKERS and not paint an entire Indian race with overly racist tones like many of your fellow nationals are portraying it to be here.

@waz @Oscar

Andrew speaks the truth. indians would rather live in cramped HK apartment not suited for Chinese rather than go back to india

wow, fair skin indian. i reckon these two families must be of Brahmin caste?

I've heard Indians lie about their incomes in the census they do in foreign countries to appear richer than they are.

It's certainly possible considering the highly unattractive and typical bragging trait that Indians have.

I would take the Indian census stats in foreign countries with a truck load of salt.

Hong Kong is like luxury to Indians and 99% of people from 3rd world countries.
i live in Canada, indians are just slightly better than black people in living standards. Only because blacks are set back systematically by white dominated entities. I only deal in reality. REALITY IS THIS. Chinese live in great expensive areas in Canada, indians do not.

OK so you have run out of an argument so its back to personal views. Thats your choice.

Anyway if anyone is interested, they can look at the HK ethnic survey here:

http://www.census2011.gov.hk/pdf/EM.pdf

For post secondary educational attainment in HK for year 2011 by ethnic group aged 15+ (page 54):

Japanese = 79.4%
Korean = 74.8%
White = 73.9%
Indian = 52.5%
Filipino = 29.7%

Pakistani = 17.1%
Thai = 10.8%
Indonesian = 7.0%

Hong Kong overall Average = 27.3%

==============

So hey if you want to keep crying that these "asylum refugees" represent the bulk of Indians in HK, be my guest.

It just comes off as desperate and quite foolish.

I have lived long enough in HK to know that chungking mansions is not the majority of south asians (even the lowest income ones) either.

Why should they do that?
Isn't that they should hide their wealth to pay less tax and gain better welfare?

surveys are good to wipe my *** with. Why do you keep using old stats? What are you trying to say with these outdated figures?

Agree.
:offtopic:

no no indians want to show wealth to pay more taxes. It's called bragging, aka thumping 56 inch chest

Another sh!t storm is approaching HK way faster than we thought
The number of stateless children born to refugees is growing in Hong Kong, where claims from asylum seekers have more than tripled in the last two years, alarming residents and lawmakers.
Hong Kong has approved just 52 of more than 8,000 claims since 2009. There are more than 11,000 asylum seekers in the Asian financial hub, some still uncertain about their fate after waiting for more than 15 years.

Yup just replying to the statements by Jlaw and others.

BTW I agree that HK must have a good strong legal immigration/visitor process.

I feel this way for EVERY country in the world....that people should only be admitted in on THEIR terms.

So please (like many Indians themselves have already said) deport these people and have a rigid strong system that everyone must follow. HK must change its laws as needed, yes you need not be blindly following the liberal leftist west in this regard.

But Chinese members should not turn this into an overall Indian bashing thing....that too in other countries as well.

I have just posted the education data for Indians and others in HK to illustrate why its wrong to stereotype a whole population on just a small selection. I would not do it for all chinese by just a small group either (and I could do this, but I personally know its invalid to do so).

They should go to Europe for a better life. More welfare in Europe. Plus indians and others already speak english. Easier transition.

You do realise that censuses are not done yearly right? Do you even know the difference between a census and a survey? No a census is not toilet paper, if you know how they are done. Surveys maybe (it depends).

When a newer one becomes available, we can post it then.....especially if you are dumb enough to believe data regarding education qualifications can change so drastically over 5 years or so.
