Why doesn't Pakistan build an aircraft carrier?

Even though Pakistan borders an ocean it has a very weak navy. Only 1 destroyer, a couple of frigates and 5 submarines. But, India has more destroyers and even an aircraft carrier. Shouldn't we build one to be able to keep up with them?
if u give ur country some money u can build or buy an ac the are 2 expensive for u child:azn:

What a ridiculous thread which surprisingly is still going on.
As for why Pakistan doesn't build an aircraft carrier, its because we can't. We have neither the funds nor the industrial capability to build one and neither do we have a need for an aircraft carrier. Now was this too hard to understand?
100000000likes for ur honesty dude

We are looking to South Korea for LPD cooperation.

Maybe Pakistan can also join in on this ? Idk how Pakistani relations are with SK but they have been a great help to us both in artillery and our national tank projects.

Dokdo class

Levent Class LPD is also a possibility and most likely with foreign assistance/tech transfer from Korea.

Turkey moves ahead with LPD acquisition plan

Don't you think that the Turkey should look towards a fleet like this:
21 SSKs
16-21 Frigates
11 Corvettes
7 Mine Hunters
21 FACs
7 Auxiliary/ Tankers
30+ Fast Patrol Attack
30+ Hover Crafts

No, what for?

. .
Pakistan is building one soon and a nuclear sub to but more ships to protect them not the sub need another fleet to protect the AC

.
To strengthen their Naval defences and to keep peace within the region....:)

The suggestion is rediculous.

Consider those 21 ssk...

Spain has 4 (to be replaced by 4-6 with AIP currently under construction)
France has 6 SSN (no ssk)
Italy has 6 ssk
Albania has 0 ssk
'Yugosphere' has 0 ssk (Yoguslavia: no SSKs, only midgets/coastals.)
Greece has 8 ssk (some to be replaced by 3 boats on sea trials and 2 under construction)

Bulgaria has 1 ssk (Romeo class)
Romania has 0 ssk
Ukraine has 1 ssk (Foxtrot class)
Georgia has 0 ssk
Russia (black sea & caspian fleets) has 1 ssk

Morocco has 0 ssk
Algeria has 4 ssk
Tunisia has 0 ssk
Libya has 6 ssk (Foxtrots: since 1984, no submarine patrols reported to have been conducted)
Egypt has 8 ssk (of which 4 ancient Romeo class)
Lebanon has 0 ssk
Syria has 0 ssk
Israel has 3 ssk (with 3 more on order)

Turkey today already has 14 ssk today, significantly more than any of the nations with which it shares a sea.

To increase that to 21 would be to invited an arms race, just as China's naval expansion evokes responses with navies throughout that part of the world. Not to mention the fact that as part of NATO, there is a division of labor e.g. as far as submarine work is concerned. Expansion to the extent mentioned would raise at least a few eyebrows within the treaty organisation, to put it mildly. Similar stories applies for other ship types.

Hey, Kid,

I've been following the Varyag story since the beginning. I've seen NOTHING to even suggest that the Chinese have moved powerplants to that ship. If they're going to try, we would have seen it. We're talking engines the size of small buildings here and the testing required would have light up the infrared galore.

So, don't give me that "don't underestimate the Chinese."

After flipping thru the old post, can't help by this so called "expert" comment 6 years ago.. LOL..

Just to post a picture to humilitate him..

WOW? No engine?? Now are you really to eat back yr words and just admit China is always a step ahead of India?

I tell you bluntly. ' You really understimate of China but China never take India seriously'.

Who's to say that Turkey will be in Nato forever?

Balance of power in this world is changing as we speak and Turkey may decide in the future that leaving Nato would be better for it's interests.

An industrialised Turkey of 2030, with a population approaching 100 million, may decide to make it's own way in the world.

It's a casino that can sting. Its using diving power to power the ship which yr comrade claim is engineless...

And Last pictures is a not even yr ship?

I believe yr INS Vikramaditya is still with Russia... Why you so eager to use other ship pic to compare China one? lol..

Plus yr INS Vikramaditya is so small that it can only launch 1 aircraft at a one on the bow..

While China one can launch 2 J-15 subsequently... Tell me what things are you ahead???

Yr INS Virhant suppose to be dump into rubbish bin cos yr INS Vikramaditya is always delay..

If Harrier is so good. Royal Navy also wouldn't dump their Invincible Carrier and go back to angle deck CV for bigger and more capable aircraft.

Yes along with Indian Naval officers who are completing Its sea trails.

Plus yr INS Vikramaditya is so small that it can only launch 1 aircraft at a one on the bow..

Can Chinese or I should say Ukrainian or I should say Russian aircraft carrier launch two Su33 aka J-15 at once... or should I ask can it launch even one at once yet ?

While China one can launch 2 J-15 subsequently... Tell me what things are you ahead???

Where exactly is the place for 2nd launch ?
Even the Russian carrier lunches only one Su33 at once.

Why should INS Virat be dumped ?.. did CCP dump your entire navy into rubbish since you did not have an AC for 60 years.

Ohhs. Please dont get so work up. India navy is always behind China.. If PLAN needs to go, India Navy shall be first.'

We are going to have a CV bigger and better than yrs. Please don't be jealous.

Btw, I stand by the comment, the ability of INS Vikramaditya launching only one aircraft at a time is hindurance... Russian CV can subsequently launch 2 aircraft in rapid succession. You seems to fail to clasp what I am trying to say....

On what grounds... you could not stop US CBVG to enter Taiwan strait... while the Indian Navy didn't allow two US CBVG to enter Bay of Bengal in 71.
Has the PLAN fought any war ?... you didn't have a proper destroyer to even stand In front of US until Russians sold two Sovremenny class destroyer and Kilo subs.
Say that when you have the bigger one fully operational... as of now it doesn't even houses any plane on its deck or hangers.
May be this would give you an Idea about launching two aircraft in rapid succession on INS Vikramaditya.
