The GCC nations have a very heavy influence over the Arab world, and Arabs have created a league representing their interests. Why does Iran not focus on exerting its influence over Iranic nations (presently under Saudi influence), instead of Arab ones?

.
Iran's influence is in Shiite majority countries only, i believe Shiites are only a minority in Afghanistan.

And the Taliban are hostile by nature toward Iran, proxies for that reason.

Taliban are extremists. Iran is peaceful. During the Taliban rule, only extremists had their influence there. Even India was not there.

But now Iran should look into Afghanistan as taliban have gone out of power.

On the contrary, Iran does have an influence and recently Iran has developed a relation with the Taliban. Its all about interests.

Iran uses some influence to balance the US in Afghanistan.

Where Iran loses out is the financial aspect. Arab countries pump money like water while Iran cannot do that.

Still Iran's policy is interesting.

Hezbollah's annual budget exceeds 100s of millions of dollars which is being paid for by Iran. Not to mention the money they are giving to Hamas, Sudan, Iraq, and Shia militias in Yemen. In short, Iran pays well for its proxies...

What makes you think Iran doesn't have influence over Afghanistan in first place?

The Taliban hold most sway over Afghanistan, and are very staunch supporters of Saudi - backed ideology. OBL was also their guest for a number of years. Additionally Shiites are regularly killed/attacked by them.

Talibanism is a backward ideology exported to Afghanistan by foreign countries and most of regular Afghan citizens despise it actually or act indifferent about it.
For 2 reason, it has still influence: 1.Central hovernment is not strong enough due to foreign military presence and 2.Taliban uses violence and religious extremism as its mean to gain influence and hegemony in Afghanistan.
When Afghanistan starts to devolop, Taliban will slowly diminish, because where prosperity comes, backwardness leaves.
There is a way for Taliban to have a place in Afghanistan and it's this: They should leave their extremism, repect the rights of all Afghans equally, including women and Shiites and to actually care about advancement of Afghanistan.
Right now, Iran has a strong cultural and economical presence in Afghanistan and also, with development of Chabahar port, Iran will be the main supplier and transit route for goods to Afghanistan. You should wait until NATO leaves Afghanistan in 2014 or later, then we can clearly talk easier about infuence of different players in Afghanistan.

The ideology of persian speaking barbaric warlords exported by Iran is twice the backward as that of Taliban.

The Taliban ideology born out of barbarism by these Iranian backed warlords therefore instead of talking emotionalism we must realise the fact that Afghanistan is bleeding everybody around because everybody around is not willing to accept the legitimate interests of other, with Iran on the top.

Time for Iran to sit down with Pakistan and Afghanistan and the three must take interests of each other into account. Thats the way otherwise we are going to bleed for nothing.

NOT countries but the shiite population. Iran very systematically fund and support them. My country is one example where we are suffring from funding to two groups by Iran and Saudia.

Sorry if you don't like my words, I didn't know we also have Taliban supporters here.

A very common display of lack of tolerance and common sense, if one don't agree with u that makes him/her a talib supporter. What does that make u an ignorant racist persian who can't pull his brain from his @$$ for a min to have enough tolerance to understand others point of view. To me u are the biggest extremist, no better then the taliban Its self.

i read it, and its nonsense. the only reason why pakistan is suffering is due to pakistanis themselves. period.

Know the facts before running ur press tv mouth, iran has a lot to do with the problems around its neighborhood. Now if u don't want to believe it that ur call. But ur denial don't really change reality.
