Why do Pakistanis keep Indian names for their restaurants abroad?

its because indians have a tad bit better reputation than pakistan in those countries. reality is, ppl from those countries do not have much idea about either india or pakistan. hell, india n pakistan dont know each other.

Almost every Hindi restaurant here in Riyadh mentions Pakistani on the main board.

The tastes are similar, so all hotel owners try to expand their market share.
As simple as that.

It is because of the bad reputation that Pakistan has earned over all these years due to terrorism and fanaticism that Pakistanis abroad have to say they are Indian just to up their reputation.

I’ve been to many restaurants in diff parts of the world & the statement goes like this
“ Pakistani, Indian, Chinese & Arabic Food” ... the owner r jus expanding their customer base, hey don’t care if Indian comes to Pak restaurant or Pakistani goes to Indian restaurant as I’ve seen people of both countries dinning....pity that we people are even using food for point scoring ... get a life ....

India is more known across the world than pakistan hence the propensity to name restaurants after India. Westerners can hardly make any difference between the two. As far food is concerned not many ppl outside can make distinguish between regional dishes ,they can hardly make out whether it is biryani or puloa. As long as the food is good it should not matter.

Off course Pakistan don't like to be associated to Indians, except off course,when they identify themselves as Indians, in order, not to be associated with terrorist, or to expand their businesses.

Where as Indians do not like to be associated with Pakistanis either, for the very same reason.

Is there a 'Pakistani food'? All pakistani food items are also found locally in Indian and vice versa.
And even then many Pakistani here say "We have nothing in common with Indians".

Because lack of pride in themselves. Instead of marketing themselves they rather be under the Indian banner. Personally I hate it when they call their restaurants Indian. On more than 1 occasion I've walked out of a restaurant after finding out it was pakistani instead of Indian. I now call and ask if the food is halal, if they say yes I know it's not one of ours.
