I dont know about other but in Bahrain no Pakistani restaurant call themselves indian.
And its not possible to cheat because pakistani and indian food is totally different.
I ate both from pakistani and indian restaurants veg non veg both.
There is a big difference.
And somebody here say indian dont eat from pakistani restaurants pls correct yourself pakistani and indian both eat from each other's restaurants Bahrain.

1. Pakistani resturants pose as indian because of better and more popular brand of india as a nation. So economic criteria.
2. In uk , white ppl actually know the difference between pakistanis and indians , and their is a large pakistani community their . So the pakistanis call their resturants by muslim names.
3. Pakistani Ppl on this thread recognize the financial imperative but resent it .
4. Everyone loves being called indian.

your right but what you cant say being new is that pakistnies being pakistanies will never ever aknowledge that so called gorras be it in UK or in USA or in Europe or Aurstralia always preffer Indian resturants, motels , accomudation and hospitality over pakistani and feel more secure with indians than pakistanies and thats why most bangladeshi & pakistanies name there resutrants ans indian resturants to attract white clients and rich indian NRIs cuase most pakistanies and bangaldeshies often cant pay the heavy bills they generate but as they say on Pakistani Defence forum no matter how truth full an indians argument might be if its against so called "pakistani nazzaria" you will be punished and mods and admins like @WebMaster will only be bystanders when there so called TT ANALysts will keep giving negetive ratings to indians fro trivial matters am i wrong @Slav Defence @Horus @Irfan Baloch

I certainly love being called an Indian. Saves me a lot of hassle since no hawker bothers me in poor countries as they know Indians are cheap.

There can be many execuses....but fact is Pakistan never tried to built a brand in food fo Pakistan itself as a distinct from Muslim nation...So although it is not intentional, but all the good things from PAkistan got associated with Indian soft image in tje mind of the NOn South Asian people. Think about following good items from Pakistan..

Shaan Masala
Marriage ladies wear or Party wear
Lahori Biryani
Pakistan Bollywood Singers
Indian food in Pakistan food


These are examples where Pakistan could have done a better job in creating an image distinct for itself rather than getting associated with India.

If Nepal can brand its restaurant chain in the name of Himalayan restaurant, why not Pak??? Rest of the people who take various execuses, should think about it...

Because the word Indian sells wheras the word Pakistan is famous for all the wrong reasons.
The international opinion of Parkistan is the same as that of Afghanistan , Maybe it will improve 70 years down the line or maybe not ,Either way its not much to expect.

I've not seen any Pakistani restaurants call themselves Indian. They're typically Lahore's/Karachi/Kashmiri/Desi etc.

Bengali restaurants on the other hand almost always have Indian written somewhere.

And generally speaking, to most English people...they're all Indian restaurants.
