Why do India and China not get Along?

Their both competitors and want to be the dominant power in South Asia. India is America/Isreal's Ally and they don't want China/Pakistan to get control over South Asia. America's hostile actions and lack of action against china have pushed many south asian countries away from their side and over to China like the Philippines. Now, basically every country in SA is either china's ally or neutral with the exception of India. I am not saying one is better than the other but this is just the geopolitical reality.

China is competing for South Asia ? If it was then it should have been friendly with India which is 2/3 of South Asia ..It is not rivalry for South Asia ,it is to avoid any future competition from South Asia..

China has elevate itself to 2nd largest economy in just 40years and very near the level of US economy soon.

A bad country can never achieved such feat without the blessing of mandate of heaven. Only good people and country will be blessed.

Modi and xi met 18 times in 5 years since modi became PM.
China was one of the first countries modi visited after becoming PM.
But i was going through many Chinese language forums and articles. The consistent thought in them was that India is a long term threat to china in asia and if conflict breaks out , China should destroy India's infrastructure .
Not just defeat India militarily but destroy India's economy.
The chinese have followed a consistent policy since the 60s. They viewed India as a threat and propped Pakistan up with arms and nuclear deterrents in the shape of nuclear plants and bombs. The Pakistani nuke is basically a Chinese nuke.
India on the other hand has different elected governments, which pursue different foreign policies towards China and even Pakistan, thinking they can change the fraught relationships with them. They all learn the hard way after a few wasted years.
China is a practical society, which believes in hard power.

Lol.. let India economy beat Japan first before talking yourself as threat of China.
You think too highly of yourself. From your domestic carrier building to LCA project and HSR progress. India is never a threat to China unless u can prove otherwise.

Sino-India relation never been good since 1959. It's not as bad as today before Modi is in change in 2014.
India always want to isolate and destroy Pakistan, while China always want Pakistan side with us to balance India.
The relation was not that bad, just because of US hegemony which threatened everyone including India.
But everything changed, now India has no confidence to confront China alone, India desperately need US protection. While US need a cannon fodder.
So US and India is a couple for convenience.

The ancient Egypt has nothing in common with nowadays Egypt. The Egyptians today are not offspring of ancient Egyptians. They just inherited the Egypt name. Race, language, religions, DNA everything replaced.
