Teachers are told to pass students, even though they've failed, and a blind eye is turned to serious problems like plagiarizing.

Education that teaching the student about the importance of failure in the process of learning and path to success.

Education that teaching the student about being creative, to use their brain to find solution to solve problem, rather than empty test paper.

Education system that promote creativity.

Singapore Chinese students aces exams everywhere. Our government hate to educate us and tell us not to study. Restrictions are places against Singaporean students. Our government would rather flood us with foreign graduates than educate us. Our government know that educated citizen is a very dangerous thing.

Nevertheless, I am not too sure how someone can tell Chinese to forgo education. Our elites are daydreaming.

Our students aces in all international academic competition including Maths Olympic...etc. But we have a fcuking government.

But we have a government who hate the citizen. Close to 100% of post graduates in engineering are awarded to foreigner. Close to 100% of our conservatory schools go to foreigners. Close to 80% of our natural science school, pharmarcy school post graduates goes to foreigners.

PAP government then told us Singaporeans are stupid, lazy, fcuk up, so they are suitable to study more.

I was looking for statistical data on non-Chinese kids growing up in adopted, or mixed-marriage households with Chinese parents, and how they compared to Chinese kids.

I think the article want to say about Taiwan.

Educators from all over the world visit Taiwan to learn Taiwan education. They are impressed with how our student is very discipline.

Taiwan education success is because we copycat US system, combined with Taiwan superior Confucian culture. The result is mind blowing.


Btw, remember that in China case, it's only Shanghai who is good enough. You haven't see the poorer and undeveloped part of China.

For your information，Shanghainese pupils are about average when measured up against kids from provinces such as Zhejiang、Jiangsu、Fujian、Shandong etc。

Why？Shanghese kids are not as hard working as their counterparts in the rural areas。These spoiled city kids have too many outside interests to devote themselves totally to academic work。

And since there are more university vacancies in Shanghai for kids with Shanghai hukou，the spoiled don't need to study as hard as their competitors from other provinces where only a small quote of 10-20 enrollments are offered by the Shanghai-based universities。

An utterly unfare system I'd say。

Its just about work ethic. I have met and studied with many Chinese. Many but not all are hardworking, many are lazy, some are very chill, some are smart. You have to understand that usually when ppl study overseas, its because they have scholarship or because they want to get experience or they plan to migrate. These ppl are obviously hardworking ppl, and since Chinese ppl are large in number, ppl assume that all of them are smart. No offense to any Chinese here, but I think they are just like any other race, there are good and bad and average in them as is in any other nation.

I don't believe that the average IQ of Chinese is higher, I know many Chinese who are good in studies, but equally ignorant about what's going around the world. I have met many who are insecure about their own performance all the time. I have met Chinese who are inconsiderate about basic things. I have met many who cant even have a proper conversation unless its in their own language. I have met some who are really intelligent as well. Its like any other race. Its just that there are many Chinese ppl who are focused and have a strong work ethic.

Man, I just said that its from experience interacting with not one, but many of them for many years (about 20 years). How many have you interacted with? Not much I can say with certainty otherwise you would know what I am talking about. Its ok if you want to believe what you want but saying that I am wrong when I am talking from experience absurd. Also, don't show me those compiled data, it doesn't mean anything to me. Only ppl who have never worked/studied with Chinese with believe those data.
