Bangladesh is yet to able to produce her own military grade steel mills, let alone producing pressurized high strength steel mills capable to withstand high pressure under water. Indonesia, Turkey all trying to nurture their supporting industries first (like steel industries, automotive and shipping industry, electronic and components industry) before moving into large scale military projects like building subs or frigates and have necessary facilities and human resources in order first before taking the challenge.

!st is depends on budget system, how much we are getting. We are going to make tank or other nutter thugs manufacturing industry soon. BD foreign policy is tooo much poor. That is why sometimes we get some prob about our defence system. We have shipping industry, we can turn over it to frigate industry. When we will have manufacturing industry we will solve the prob of human resources problem.

I think after seeing our subs india became greedy . It is their threat too. Whatever now we have 2. In near future we will have 20 . I think buying subs from india will not be a wise decision. Why we gonna pay to our friendly foe s state?

Think of this from a business perspective. Bangladesh is a consumer. We will buy from wherever we get best value of money without being too dependent of only one supplier for strategic reason. Well at least until we can produce indigneously ourselves i presume. Doesn't matter which ever political party is in power, this will always be the base deciding factor.

on a separate note, can we buy the " rusting aircraft carrier" from thailand for a cheap price and break it up for the metal ?
