'Important part of lifestyle of my state '
Not entire India .Other Indians uses its in their own way and we Keralites uses its in our own way .
Oh well .You dont know anything about my state .So dont need to bother about replying of my post.

Ya kerala and coastal karnataka people extensively use coconut products for their daily needs ..In our part list of coconut tree byproducts are endless ..Now coconut oil costs almost double than sunflower so we may see a change in our kitchen

Not only in Kerala,Mostly Southern India Coconut trees are in abundance, they are Coconut oil(Cooking and massaging), Coconut powder, Coconut Milk, Coconut Water, Coconut Bunches or it's hairs also for Burning and in Bathing, and also it's oil is use full in retches,itches and Burns... so u can say all in all coconut tree and it's byproducts are use full,,,not a single thing can be wasted... So in that way coconut is use full and for them who don't it's use and are using Branded things for it's alternative , their life can be changed ...

Yea south indians are walking coconut oil bottles.

reminded me of an old Indian movie of Amita Bachan where his brother comes over to the wife and jokingly says if cooking oil ever finishes we can always use "bhabhi's " hair to fry stuff.....

Coconut oil is a nasty stuff. Thinking about it Im having nausea.

Coconut oil is good for hair as I personally used it and have seen the results..

But I would like to ask people to please don't apply it and come out.. It smells bad.

In my college itself, some people come to college with coconut, amla oil and other local oils applied.. I can't bear the smell..

Please apply it at night and wash it off in the morning..

Coconut oil even though contains saturated fatty acids, they are non artery clogging and they help to reduce ldl. Coconut oils are quite separate from others saturated fat that it is medium chain while others are long chain.

I don't like coconut in everything btw. Some is good.

You shouldn't use normal coconut oil for your hair. There is special made coconut oil for your hair.

I don't use it anymore coz I don't stay with my parents anymore.. Used it when I was in high school..
And I don't know the specific coconut oil but I think it was specifically made for hair. It wasn't home made..
