In CHINA : Liu Zhijun, China's ex-railway minister, sentenced to death for corruption.
In INDIA :CBI gives clean chit to Pawan Kumar Bansal in railway bribery scandal. Even thou CBI has Pawan Bansal on tape .


A Beijing court has sentenced China's former minister of railways Liu Zhijun to death, with a two-year reprieve, for bribery and abuse of power, China's state media reported on Monday, ending one of the country's highest-profile corruption cases in years.

Liu stood trial at Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People's Court on 9 June for accepting £6m in bribes between 1986 and 2011 and using his position to help 11 people win promotions or lucrative contracts, according to the state newswire Xinhua. He had been formally accused in April.

The court also "deprived his political right for life and confiscated all his personal property", the newswire reported. Suspended death sentences in China are usually commuted to life imprisonment. The court's verdict will require Liu to spend at least 10 years in jail.

At #Chinese-Dragon I agree with u. India and China will be falling in to trap of West if we dont develop our nation. We need strong laws to stop these corrupt Politicians and Babus from Govt Office. Corruption is not new in India and China .But atleast China taking some strong steps. As people of China is also fed up with this ! Corrupt free govt is always Peace Ful society. Corruption is every where but to do Illigal things.But In India and China every Legal process like From Birth certificate to Death u need to bribe .

Neither India nor China can become a super power. At the best they can become middle income countries with sufficiently independent defence and foreign policy for protecting their civilizations. None of them is expansionist...rather they are both insular. A superpower requires high per capita resource availability which neither has. And there is no need to become an economic or military superpower as that is the fastest road to ruin. Both countries are already civilizational and cultural superpowers which is what should be.

China already there ! It will take few years to over take USA. If there is no democracy like India's . Communist party is good for China but am not quite sure about people freedom . Yet as whole China is right there... !

I always admire our Chinese brothers for their emotional maturity. We Indians have lost it somewhere along our 1000 year slavery which finished our elite. Hopefully we will recover.
