if 1962 wake up call wasn't there .... 1971 would have never happened.

(though, well, many Indians actually consider it a local event among our own people in the Indian subcontinent .... just another re-organization among Indian, Pakistan, Bangladesh).

however, even 1974 pokharan may have never happened .... if india was to continue a pacifist gandhian approach to defence.

China really don't have any requirement in India's land.

It's hot there. And it's dirty and full of people. Judging from Indian's economic performance, it is a piece of land without much value. So be cool.

India is not a pacifist society, you went to war with your former countrymen immediately after independence over a state dominated by Muslim population. In fact the Kashmir conflict proved that Indian elites has adopted the imperialistic view of the British.

1962 war made perfect sense to Chinese because after the war Indian army ceased their suicidal eastern push and stability is achieved which allowed for economic development. It is Nehru who should be blamed for his childish strategy of invading china slowly while not ever expecting a war to happen.

since ancient times India never had a border with china ... it was always an Indo-Tibet border, not India-China border.

china was always as far away as Egypt. Only Iran could be considered a neighbour .. not china.

.. that until, china invaded tibet in 1959 .. and further kept moving ... claiming Ladakh. they occupied Aksai Chin illegally.

we had to wake up to these aggressions from an "always far-off country".

anyway.. history is history !!!
