Why can't India and Pakistan have friendly relations?

I have been watching these forums and Indian and Pakistani posters always seem to be at war on here. If Pakistan and India get together there will be economic stability for Pakistan as well as internal.

Pakistan cannot sustain this hate against India, Pakistan need to change their stance but the change needs a cultural change. I am nether Pakistani or Indian, so I have no horses in this race.

You guys need to work it out by yourselves.

I'm sorry but your assessment is incomplete. The only reason why this conflict continues is because as long as a strong and unified Pakistan stands on India's eastern borders, India cannot indulge in its hegemonic designs. There is ample proof of this petty side of India, as it has bullied both Nepal and Sri Lanka recently. There is also clear evidence of India's strong arming of Bangladesh and even Bhutan for its conceited interests.

We will continue to resist India in spite of all costs, rather than meekly surrender our hard won independence.

Please research this conflict a bit more. It is not as simple as what the Indians say. A smaller Pakistan is not bullying a huge india. India is not that innocent.

What maintains and sustains that independence is hatred, once we lose that hatred of india we are at risk

No man it is not our hatred that maintains this conflict. This is Indian propaganda which is trying to convince the world that Pakistan has an irrational and unprovoked hatred of India.

It is the pettiness of Hindustan which has not been able to accept the independence of Pakistan even after 70 years have gone by. Pakistan has only reacted to their malicious designs.

For a moment let’s agree, Kashmir solution is the panacea of all problems. What about the vengeance PA carries after loosing Bangladesh? You think they will go silent about the call to avenge India with a thousand cuts right after a peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue?
Pakistan has moved on from BD, it's only BD and India who haven't moved on.

If Pakistan got the chance to break India, Pakistan would do it, but not because of hatred, rather it would be a purely geopolitical move.

Why are Americans so anti Australians these days?

Maybe studying Kashmir he can understand his own foreign policy better.

Kashmir is the solution to many of the world's problems because it's solution will set a precedent that territorial disputes can be solved diplomatically.

By the way the aborigines and the native Americans share the same woe.

They should study Kashmir as well.

You have zero understanding of Pakistan which is why you are welcome to have this forum as an educational curve.

Pakistan army is an arm of the Pakistani Constitution as devised by the parliament elected in nature.

Take the Yemen resolution for your witness.

You come from a media frenzied country which serves Pakistan as a perfect boogeyman to it's people. And the ever growing hungrier Indian gobbles it chunk for chunk down it's throat.

He is not an Australian, just hiding behind Australian flag.

I am surprised by you innocent comments. May be in Pakistan that could be the thinking....let us solve Kashmir and live happily for ever, after all Muslims got what they wanted in 1947. But you have to recognize that it was the Hindus that were the looser in the partition. No wonder Jinnah is taught across Indian schools as the villain that broke India. There are many Indians even now that never accepted Pakistan as a independent state. The ideological difference is too much to bridge the gap. The brunt of partition is still being felt by Indian Muslims. Both India and Pakistan are destined to remain hostile for long long time or until the time humans stop thinking of them as Muslims and us as Hindus.
As long as Kashmir remains divided, Pakistan remains a geopolitically, economically and militarily an insecure nation. This isn't about innocence or ideologies, but rather the reality of the situation.

Its only a post thought that Bangladesh was meant to be a separate state. The visionaries of 2-nation theory were unable to foresee that happening in less than 25 years of making of Pakistan.

Pakistan came into existence based on a certain ideology. On one hand a part of it is failing that ideology and disintegrating and on the other hand Pakistan is insisting on acquiring Kashmir on the basis of the very same failed ideology.

Its difficult to make a Pakistani understand this but to a Canadian it should not be a problem.
First of all, I said BD should have been separate, not that it was meant to be separate.

Second, let's not pretend that the British and Indians didn't deliberately set Pakistan up to fail. Let's not forget, the British wanted a united India, right to the very end.

If I am misinformed then logically explain things to me, that is why I posted the question, but I get called a troll for asking a question.
Please go through my comments.

As for the troll comments, if they make you uncomfortable, please contact the mods.

The truth is Kashmir is only an excuse, even if magically Kashmir belonged to Pakistan we would have the same problems.

Because Pakistani's are not practical.

Why can't India and Pakistan have friendly relations?

Because they have a difference in ideologies, which is fundamental to their conflict. Ideological conflicts are far worse that political , military or on any specific issues (such as Kashmir).
It is the same reason why Capitalist and Communists cannot have harmony or why Islamists/Radicalised group can't be in peace with moderates....

As long as Kashmir remains divided, Pakistan remains a geopolitically, economically and militarily an insecure nation. This isn't about innocence or ideologies, but rather the reality of the situation.

As I told, what you are saying could be the Pakistani position, but not of India's. India never believed in 2 NT and would never believe. India has 220 million minorities including Muslims, Sikhs and Christians, any pandering to 2 NT means a recipe for disaster in India.

That is the reason why India will never come to tables on Kashmir. This happened for the last 70 years. And I believe that will be the state of India's position in future too.

Also I don't expect Pakistan to just leave Kashmir, as you just told that as long as Kashmir is there Pakistan will remains a geopolitically, economically and militarily an insecure nation.

So that is reason why I think India and Pakistan can never be friends. The positions, and ideologies are so different that the gap is too large to bridge. There is nothing common ground between us.
