This is an International "open" forum and not your Jammat. Mind your own business Bangladeshi.

He is no "Bangladeshi" as well, just a wannabe global Islamist.

But they always prefer to do their hizarat to non Muslim secular democracies for some reason.

And make their little fantasies from that safety...

@Yzd Khalifa bro, please take a look at last 3 pages of this thread when you have time.

This thread is about future direction of Bangladesh foreign policy. Foreign policy is about building bridges with other countries, nations and people's - to promote and enhance national interest. I personally have no hatred for the Shia Muslims. I am not takfiri, I believe Shia's are Muslims. But since 1979, Iran's theocracy or Mullahcracy have been promoting a very virulent form of Shia extremism, to unite and help all Shia's at the expense of their Sunni neighbors, in campaign after campaign of ethnic cleansing, starting in Lebanon civil war, then taking advantage of the removal of Saddam in Iraq and now killing Sunni's in Syria, in collaboration with their Shia Alawite Assad regime and Shia Hezbollah.

The ideal outcome would be eventually for the Sunni's to wake up, beat the Shia and remove the threat of Shia supremacy so that Shia world again become a junior partner of the greater Sunni Muslim world and at least not subvert or threaten Sunni Muslim interest.

This is not a call for persecuting common Shia's of the world, and those in Bangladesh, but to urge them towards an understanding that they must leave the path of a futile conflict they will loose, give up the dream of Shia supremacy and thus return to sanity.

As one of the largest Sunni Muslim nations of the world, Bangladesh has responsibility to take direct role in this conflict. If needed and invited we should actively recruit people, perhaps as migrant workers who can then get trained in Mid-east and take part in the current conflict in Syria and future brewing conflicts in Iraq and Lebanon, so that we can help Sunni countries win and eventually integrate the whole region under greater GCC and Arab League. If we help our Sunni brothers in achieving an integrated Arab League Union and become powerful as a result, they can then help us in our hour of need, when we need their help.

A more integrated Arab world is in greater Sunni Muslim interest, it will reduce external influence, such as US, Chinese or Indian influence in these countries and make them more free to choose Sunni Muslim interest without having to worry about non-Muslim countries who they depend on, such as US, China or India.

I will cross post a series of posts I have made in other threads on this topic.

Kalu_Bhai, I totally disagree with your viewpoints. If possible we should help reunite two brother having in mind that there are more common than minor difference. I do not know if you know this but I think late president Zia-ur-Raman played a key role to ease the trouble situation between Iran-Iraq in 80's.

There are some serious problem with Shia's perception of Islam. But, we should try to maintain peace with Shia. Because fighting among Muslim will ultimately weaken the Ummah. Any fight with Iran will ultimately devastate the both parties.

Shia, in Bd is not necessary same as Shia in Iran/Iraq/Lebanon(Hezbullah). There are few percent's, probably less than 5% may be consider as Kafir due to fact that they believe that Hazart Ali should have been prophet(nauzubillah) instead of Muhammad(s.a.a.w). This 5% has nothing to do with main stream Shia followers. However I'd like to add that I do not endorsed the mega event of Muharram where certain Shia follower bleed themselves with sharp chain/knife, etc.

Like among Shia, Sunni Muslims also has their version of cult. They are called Qadianis.

most of the Syed and Mirza families were once Shia but over time they all mixed with overwhelming Sunni population and follow most sunni culture. But they still celebrate Moharram and some other shia culture. I believe other shia's specially who settled in the countryside in Sultani era are all now Sunni.

I heard even Khaleda Zia's family was once Shia.

This is possible because they were Persians, not Arabs. Nawab Siraj-ud-Dooula was also Persian and may be from Shia bloodline.

I respect your view point, most Bangladeshi's I find are of this view point. But these two "brothers" actually have anything but brothers throughout long 1400 years of history of Islam. They have attempted to wipe each other out whenever they found an opportunity and that is exactly what is happening in Mid-east today. When Iran found an opening after invasion of Iraq, they helped majority Shia topple the Sunni dominated Bath regime there. Iran soon took the Nusayri (Alawite, who were not even considered proper Muslim earlier) under their wing to complete their arc of Shia crescent from Iraq's border to borders of Lebanon. And all through this period their fake support for Sunni Palestinian cause was to give the impression that they are non-sectarian and champions of Muslim cause regardless of sect.

I would urge you to read the papers I posted in this thread, more information can never hurt:
http://www.defence.pk/forums/middle...-strategy-mid-east-after-1979-revolution.html
The OP is a detailed strategy paper from a moderate Muslim Brotherhood affiliated lobby group intellectuals who clearly point out Iran as a threat for Arabs and other Sunni Muslims.

This Shia Sunni conflict the Mullah's of Iran have initiated since 1979, will only end when Iran is defeated in Syria and Lebanon and perhaps when Iraq will decide to reject Iran's bid to include this Arab country in their sphere of influence and opt to go for their Arab brothers instead. Other than sectarian unity, Iran has little to offer Iraq, which can gain much more if they are with a united 400 million strong Arab League, regardless of their sect affiliations.

I am all for unity and peace, but sometimes peace comes through defeat of one side and when the defeated side come to face reality they cannot avoid any more.

The Shia bloodline in Bengal is relatively new. It happened post Safavi conversion of Iran and when Safavi's helped Humayun defeat Sher Shah.

Despite their migration to South Asia post 1500 AD, the Shia sect did not spread in Bengal, because earlier Arab migrants to coastal areas and later Turkic rulers were all Sunni. Even though Shia's held position under Mughals, the Mughals and the dominant faith under their rule was also Sunni Hanafi.

I believe KZ's family is no longer Shia, although mothers side probably has Shia origin from the Murshidabad Nawab or associated family. KZ's father I think is from Noakhali. Zia was definitely not Shia, as far as I know.

Qadiani's are not considered Muslims, so I would not even consider them a part of Sunni Muslims.

Sir, most West and East Pakistani were Sunni and still are, yet we bleed each other to satisfy some artificial ego. There was no Mullah of Iran back then. Sometime I think we got it all wrong since the inception of Islam in Arabia.

Pakistan could have been most powerful nation in Islamic world and we could have pave the way to peace and prosperity of Ummah. We blew it so why should other listen to us. We have no credibility on this. So I urged you to stop this here instead of creating more hatred.

Qadiani's are not considered Muslims, so I would not even consider them a part of Sunni Muslims.

I know Qadiani's are kafir. I was talking about Mirza Ghulam Qadiani, founder of Qadiani group was Sunni himself until he lost faith.

Pakistan was destroyed by Shia leaders themselves, just read Asad71 Bhai's post:

Shia Sunni problem is a reality today and hundreds of Muslims from both sides are getting killed everyday. To say that this is not our problem and wash your hands by saying platitudes like "we should bring them together", how can you call yourself a responsible Muslim, not caring about Muslims getting killed, regardless of what part of the world this is happening in?

I respect your opinion, but you have no right to call my efforts to inform my countrymen "spreading hatred".

Please continue and wise you good luck. Just to add couple point before leaving this thread.

I myself a follower of Quran and Sunnah. I was taught to be just a Muslim by our prophet(s.a.a.w). Neither Quran nor Hadees mentioned about Sunni or Shia. Hence, I am exiting myself from this century old debate.

I am still sticking to point that if possible we should unite based on being Muslim fist. If not possible then we should not pour gasoline on burning fire.

There are many Shias in Bangladesh, if your gonna start this Shia-Sunni nonsense, it will be step backwards for Bangladesh.

Muharram Tajiya Procession at Old Dhaka - YouTube

There is no exact estimate of Shia numbers in Bangladesh, some say it is 50,000 and most are not originally from Bengali Muslim ethnic group. The video shows Bangladesh is a tolerant country not just to Shia's but to Hindu's, Christians, Buddhists and other minorities and even heretics like Mirzai/Qadiani/Ahmadi.

This does not mean that as a country we have to support mad Mullah's of Iran in their Shia faith based extremism to kill Sunni Muslims in Syria, Iraq or Lebanon.
