No One actually won in Afghanistan.
Pakistan support to Afghan militants group backfired too.
This war would have never happened if those idiots Taliban simply handed over Osama when asked nicely than picking up arms and start a never ending war.
The discussion is not about the aftermath, but the facts on the ground, the facts as I have stated are factually correct.
It was never Pakistan's fight, because it was on our doorsteps, we had to fight the fight, and on each occasion I have mentioned, Pakistan was on the winning side. In a conflict there is always a side that wins and a side that loses.
US military complex won from 2001 up until now. Trillions.
Yes, but my facts still stand.
If you look from a neutral standpoint. Pakistan might have won in Afghanistan, but it actually lost in Pakistan itself. The war on terror has costed pakistan not only in terms of human and social cost but also economically, as it is at least 20 years (the same time WOT started in 2001) behind its regional peers.
I would agree with you wholly,
but the fact remains it was a fight that was thrust on Pakistan and each time the side that won had the backing of Pakistan, that is a fact.
Countries cannot uproot and leave, if drug dealers started selling drugs right on your doorstep, and prostitution started, you would do something about, if you cannot leave, you would fight any way you can.
Pakistan did, and every time the side supported by Pakistan, won.
Pakistanis who are loyal Pakistanis will immediately support PRC. There is no question that America may somehow take precedence in the minds of ordinary Pakistanis.
There is a substantial risk however that malevolent forces will try to overturn popular opinion and realign vital institutions in America's favour - this risk has existed for decades and manifests in the time-honoured guise of the "innocent NGO". Pakistanis should remain vigilant, so as to thwart such efforts. Every single opposition party in Pakistan presently has at least one hand in the back pocket of some American/western NGO...and these innocent NGOs have very deep pockets.
I constantly find myself agreeing with you,
but I wouldn't worry about the Pakistani public, they may want American visa, they don't hate anyone, but they know who their friends are, the support for China is through the roof in Pakistan. They realise America has backstabbed them once too often.
Myself, I don't care which country as long it's good for us, Pakistan has far too often provided blind support and getten the minimal in return. No more.
Pakistan also won the battle of waterloo.
Trust an India to be an idiot.
And people of Pakistan pay the price for that. These wins came with a heavy price. An average Pakistani is looking at state to regulate things, laws and over all society. But all attention of Pakistani state is at outer world.
This can not go like that for long.
I agree , but you cannot ignore the fact that these fights were thrust on Pakistan and we should be proud we fought bravely. Countries cannot uproot and leave, and I hope we never learn to bend over to anyone except God.
Or may be this is evidence that Pakistan can be sent out into the field to serve any other country's national interests at the cost of its own by anyone willing to pay the rent?
well its a matter of perspective, if there is fire in your neighbours house, and there is no fire brigade available, will you wait for the fire to consume your property and threaten you family or will you try to deal with the fire. Off-course, you would try to deal with the fire.
You would not deal with the fire purely for your neighbours sake, but also to protect yourself. Please lets get the prospective right.
I dont think anyone has won afghan war instead of talibans. For pak winning afghan war can be summarized into just 2 points.
1. Peace in Afghanistan which will bring peace to pak.
2. A govt in Afghanistan which should be in favor and more tilted towarxs pak involving all the stake holders so that it can be fully governed and shouldn't be used against Pakistan or any other country for that matter.
So far i cant see peace or a favourable govt in Afganistan so no Pakistan has not won the Afghan war, just yet.
On the ground based on the facts on hand the sides supported by Pakistan won, what you are discussing is a different aspect, although correct, but not relevant to the discussion.
