I do not understand the discrepancy in citing the dates in the report. One says 30 December 1972, the other says 30 january 1972. So, which one is correct? As far as I know he went to Mirpur on 3o Dec 1971 to find out his missing brother Shahidullah Kaiser, a famous novelist.
Peace was not yet established in Mirpur although the PA troops surrendered on 16 Dec 1971. Fighting was still continuing between the Biharis and Mukti Bahini people and Zahir was killed in a cross fire in Mirpur. No one really can say for sure whose bullet had killed him, but everyone in those days said of a stray bullet from the Bihari side killed him. Only Allah knows the truth.
@ But as per the statement of Bobita, one Indian Brigadier rang at the house of Zahir Rayhan and the phone was picked up by Bobita, even the Brigadier said he was supposed to visit the house of Zahir and to have a lunch ?
@ As per my version, those intellectuals were not killed by Pakistan army or Razakers ? Then who killed them ?
It was evident that on the early second week of December 1971, the members of Mujib Bahini and members of RAW in civil dresses were active evn inside Dhaka. Some of the Biharees and Rajakars were killed in broad day light some where either in Jattra Bari or old Dhaka.
@ If we critically analysis the killed intellectual peoples who they were were ?
1. Most of them were the Professors of Dhaka University and they were on pay roll of Pakistan Govt till 14 December 1971. Many were the doctors of Dhaka Medical College who served the Pakistan army. There were some Bengali Army doctors serving in Pakistan army also. Why the Pakistan Army should killed them ? The arguments shown were too weak.
2. Most of the killed professors were left oriented and were believed to be pro-Chinese.
3.On 14 December 1971, the Pakistani army were too demoralize and awaiting for surrender. The condition of Razakers and Al Sams were miserable.
4. It was the Indian media and thier Govt which played this game. At that time the Indian media was very strong and united. They were augment by another organized force the "RAW".
5. It is yet be proved that Pakistani army or the Razakars or Al-Sams killed them.
6. When & where ever any little bit of evidence were found it was at once eliminated at very spot by an organised vested quarters.
7. Pakistani Govt or their media was too weak against united media of India, Bangladesh and the collective media of Socialist Block countries of that time.
