I have seen a guy posted a live Markhoor image on twitter standing with this beauty. What a beautiful animal. I was in awe

During my childhood a friend of my father hunted a Markjor after getting permission from wild life dept because male markhor is too old to reproduce and not letting young ones to try their luck.
He send some cooked puloo to us.
Meat was very strong and gamey in flavor and color was very dark.

Pakistan has very rudimentary wildlife conservation techniques and the loss of habitat coupled with poaching is a big big issue.

not surprising since humans are not getting water how the hell can animals survive.

This conservation plan have really worked wonder for us and the animal on endangered species list have climbed down to "near threatened" status. Though it might sound a bit cruel, but have worked really well for the wild life.

It is nessasary to kill old males even now a days to hunt selected old males you need to pay near one crore pak rupee.

Old males hold up to 6 females even when they got to old to reproduce...the giant markhor don't allow young ones to mate their females so to increase their population old ones hunted.

For your info markhor population increased many golds since last decades.
There were serious efforts to increase their population with worked well.

I know it has increased but its bovine..... It was bound to increase anyhow if left alone.
I am talking about fauna in general...... Sindh and Balochistan are fast becoming barren !!
