The issue is not so much whether the inventors themselves were practising muslims.
The lesson we should take from this period of history is not to lose ourselves in backward-looking escapism, but to realize that scientific discovery and technological excellence are not incompatible with muslim civilization. It happened before and there is no reason why it should not happen again.
In other words, Islam does not forbid scientific knowledge. (psst, somebody tell the mullahs.)

I wonder for how long we are going to live a past glory (which is always debatable). If we were so very capable then why we are not doing something out of the world now? Why ever since there is a proper record of events we are lagging. About things 100 plus years back there is nothing substantial to prove who did it and if they ever happened.
Dude, stop talking like a jackass and re-read the meat of what I said. I never implied that science didn't exist, many Muslim enhancements were scientific and adaptations of previously existing knowledge. However as said before, science predating the Renaissance Era was by in large considered witchcraft or heresy by the west.Asim......is this what you have learnt dude...."Science was magic before the Muslim empires put it into practical use".
your teacher ( under Zia's regime spoon fed these fallacies we know) may have taught you these, but dude, you have access to intrenet...USE IT.
