What's new

Who hates China’s rise the most: from the “yellow peril” to the “biggest challenger”, Why the Anglo-Saxon despise the Chinese so much?

The West hates China, because they see China as a political and cultural rival.
I support China's socialist market economy.
That makes no sense, politically china is the polar opposite of US democracy…
Culturally china doesn’t have any power even over its neighbors, Korea is tiny but its cultural power extends to China and even to some extent the west, Japanese and Koreans look down on Chinese as a people and consider themselves (very well mistakenly) lower in east asian hierarchy.
You might attribute it to east Asian physical appearance, but Africans would rather go to west than China.
Ask any Chinese, chinese want china to remain han, its a closed door society pretty much like japanese.

This is correct

This is wrong

It is a valid term because these countries have a common language, culture, religion etc. and they work together as one on most matters.

'Han' cannot be used in the same way because all Han dominated countries don't act in unison. E.g. China and Taiwan. For example, the Chinese may like Pakistan, but Taiwan may prefer India.

I agree with your definition of Anglo and while I agree the UK is likely considered the main starting point of the Industrial Revolution in Europe it was just a cog in a wheel of countries that included non-Anglo Germany/France/Netherlands/Belgium.

Unfortunately because the UK was known for its colonialism in the World people outside of Europe tend to completely focus on it and elevate it as the official speaker/representative for the European world.

In the 80s, there was so much fear hype that Japan was becoming a great power competitor. So this is not the first time an East Asian country has been perceived as a challenger.
Japan is always an US stooge, China never is. Japan doesn't have a home market big enough to sustain its economy, China does. comparing 1980's Japan with todays China is just so dumb.

I never said they were capable of competing, I said it was perception and that there was fear hype used to rally prominent and regular people as well as the businessmen to counter Japan. The same as what is being now to counter China. In many ways it’s similar language as well.

I saw a video on YouTube (can’t removed the name) where there were clips from the 80s about making people fear Japan and comparing them to clips about rhetoric against China today.

But to be honest, no one in the US perceives China as a military threat vis a vi an invasion force coming to mainland US, the way the Soviets were. It also true the other way around. No one in mainland China realistically thinks an invasion force is coming from the US or in a coalition with her allies to invade mainland China.

US is an immigration country, China as the largest nation in most part of history always had a tradition to move oversea to expand business and opportunities, there are way more ethnic Chinese in South east Asia than those in America, so you know why over 70% of Singaporeans are of Chinese origin? US is an immigration country, it has way more Europeans immigrated there so now it's European dominated, but it's changing, 50 years from now that country will look very different when whites become a minority.

People leave their countries forever because there is a problem...not because there isn't one.

Millions of Chinese have left China forever in just the last 20 years and it was not because they considered China a land of milk and honey. This isn't a temporary move by them.

I think you should face the fact instead of pretending it isn't there by giving some weak excuse.

Yes forever. A few people going back out of millions is negligible…especially when they have happily thrown their Chinese citizenship in the toilet.

These are just the numbers of Chinese people who have thrown their Chinese citizenships in the toilet for US citizenships.

Chinese Naturalizations
2019: 39,490
2018: 39,600
2017: 37,674
2016: 35,794
2015: 31,241
2014: 30,284
2013: 35,387
2012: 31,868
2011: 32,864
2010: 33,969
2009: 37,130
2008: 40,017
2007: 33,134
2006: 35,387
2005: 31,708
2004: 27,309
2003: 24,014
2002: 32,018

This is like 630,000 people

LOL! You are the one with the failed state that is losing 10’s of thousands of people. These people aren’t on a temporary vacation.

You can fill several stadiums like this with just the 630,000 people throwing their Chinese citizenships in the toilet for US ones…nevermind those that go permanently to other countries.

I think you should look at the picture and wake up at the scale.

Chinese, as the biggest nation in population for the most part of the human history , always have a tradition to expand and look for more opportunities both in China and overseas, way more ethnic China live in South East Asian countries than north America, do you know why 75% Singaporeans are of Chinese origin even the country is so far away from China?

America itself is an immigration country, actually according to the study, the first Americans natives came from today's China, so you are more of an immigrant than the Chinese there, Americas have people from every single country on the planet, you can say every country has problem and that's why people move to Americas, what's your family's problem back in their home country?

China never lacks people, we lack talented people, scholars and researchers, now China beats US in attracting talents, that's what matter and what we care about the most.

LOL! at you pathetic excuses! The Chinese here on PDF are the ones who keep saying in China you are taught if you go to the US you will live as a second class citizen.

So did all these people leave China for the US after its modernization just because they are into torture or something?

The answer is because they wanted an even better life than their own country could provide…so don’t try and sugarcoat it with some excuse of adventurism. People don’t throw away their citizenship easily…unless I guess if you are Chinese.

Where does it even say any of these Chinese people are naturalized US citizens going back to China??

Your exodus of population is so severe you don't even realize most of these people from the article you posted are likely not even in the 630,000 group I mentioned.

These are the additional hundreds of thousands of Chinese who live and work in the US who are not US citizens.

If we include them the number of stadiums needed goes up even more.

Now you are pointing to ~2,500 from this pool of hundreds of thousands as some sign China is doing better?

All that means is 2,500 people who originally published papers in the US are now publishing papers in China.

If 250,000 Chinese graduates from US schools are still publishing papers in the US instead of China they are not counted.

That just shows how people throughout history have been incredibly unhappy with life in China when it was an even bigger failed state.

While there is a huge number of people trying to get into the US and gain citizenship..however unlike your China there isn't a huge number of US people trying to get rid of their citizenships for other countries...and those that do leave usually go back to their original country...and not strike out on some "new adventure" to the Faulkland Islands or Papua New Guinea. :rolleyes1:

So looking at pre-Covid numbers:

Only 2,072 people (out of 328,000,000) renounced their US citizenship in 2019 (and only 1001 people in 2018). However 834,000 people from across the world became naturalized US citizens in 2019 ( 756,800 in 2018).

So in 2019..39,490 Chinese citizens tore up their Chinese citizenships and became US citizens...and remember only 2,072 people out of all the various groups in the US decided to tear up their citizenships.

Don't you find that ratio interesting...and how it shows China has a much much much larger ratio of their population willing to forgo their Chinese citizenship for a better life. Remember that 34,490 is just for the US..if you add in all the others countries Chinese people fled permanently to it looks far far far worse. How come US citizens aren't fleeing to there in droves too?
