Who gets to be a Muslim in Pakistan?

.
Ahmadis are not considered Muslim because they do not even consider Prophet Muhammad PBUH as their prophet so how could his saying apply to them??
They consider Prophet Mohammad pbuh as their Prophet. But i was asking the question according to what graphican had posted.

Yes and no if you really want to know what they believe you should look it up. Look up Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and some of his claims.

They can believe whatever the hell they want; I don't like it and by God I don't agree with ! But at the same time I cannot, for practical considerations that we see all around us, give myself or any other the prerogative to legislate for or against it ! The State of Pakistan had no business deciding who a Muslim is or isn't.

.
In daily life I've never met any sunni who thinks Shias are not Muslim, our laws are not defined in such a way.

One really has to wonder what was the group selection PEW went to.

But u don't live in the Pakistan......... it explains it all.

When u lives in a foreign nation and meets foreigners on ur "daily life" so how can u say that about "daily life" in pakistan?

The state of Pakistan alone has not condemned them. It was a worldwide consensus by both Shia and Sunni ulema. It was among the few things they could agree on.

Zardari is a Shia, everything is not as black and white in Pakistan like the media likes to portray. Are there sectarian conflicts? Yes but not as prevalent as people make it out, there are about 60 million Shias in Pakistan and 110-115 million Sunnis if it was prevalent there would be a civil war going on.

^I know about their belief.

Are you a qadiani???

. .
^I dont have to be an Ahamdi to know about their belief.

True, I have Qadiani friends here in the states who pretty much confirm most of what I ask them. You can go to any forum Shia or Sunni and ask them about Qadianis they will explain in detail why they are looked down upon.

That being said they should not be persecuted against and I am fully on board with Pakistan abolishing the blasphemy laws as they are detriment to peace in the country.

We have a President who is Shia, Pm's who have been Shia, CoS of the Armed Forces Shia, Judges of the Supreme Court.

I know my friend and I respect their democratic right to decide that ! However I disagree with it in the most vociferous of terms; the contributions to Pakistan of the Ahmediya Community have been immense. On one-hand we've got unabashed defenders of Pakistan in Zafarullah Khan (Pakistan's First Foreign Minister !) on the other we've got people like Dr.Abdus Sallam (whose contributions to Pakistan go well beyond winning us our only Nobel Prize !). In between (lest we forget !) we've got war heroes like Lt.General Akhtar Hussain Malik who was brilliant during the '65 war but was for some reason replaced at the last moment by Ayub Khan in preference for Yaha Khan and we lost a glorious opportunity to capture Akhnoor and the rest of Jammu ! Apart from these people the average Ahmedi had been a vociferous supporter of Pakistan in '47 with the majority of them immigrating to what became the State of Pakistan before over the years their unflinching loyalty was rewarded first with their excommunication from Islam and later rioting, murder and arson !

However much I disagree with their belief I can't help but hang my head in shame knowing what we did to some of the staunchest champions of Pakistan !

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah."

With this defination given by Prophet Muhammad PBUH, everybody who believe in above is Muslim and so are Shias. No Doubts About it.

So the message of Allah's Apostle is to spread Islam by force??

We have Ahmediya serving their country in all fields, whatever the controversy regarding their religious beliefs - they are Pakistani and we should strive to remove all the discrimination against them.

This is why I hate the forum rules sometimes. I can not go into detail as to where, when, and why that was stated for obvious reasons.

No doubt their contributions must be acknowledged and held up in high regard. It was a dam shame what those b@sterds did to Adbus Salam's grave the least they could have done was get him a new grave stone with First Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize Winner of something (correct me if I am wrong he was the first Pakistani right?).

Brothers you must understand it was the Qadianis themselves who first declared all non- Qadianis as apostates. You can read some of their literary works online written by their head scholars. After they declared all non-qadianis as apostates then Ulema from both Sunni and Shia thought came together to evaluate their claims. It was decided unanimously worldwide by all who participated that their beliefs were heresy and so they were labeled apostates. Now the Qadianis cry but it was their own doing which led to their excommunication.

I come from a family of Sayyid from Allo Mahar Sharif and my forefathers were among those who participated in these discussions.
