In my opinion, British did us a huge favor by partitioning the subcontinent. It helped in throwing out warring Islamic political faction into Pakistan. I can't imagine for one second, how bad India would have been if not for Partition. Constant bickering about Muslim rights, their proselytism would have created tumultuous situation here. It would have broken to more parts each fighting with each other. So thank you Britain and Jinnah. Hail visionary leader Sardar Patel.

Okay I think you got my point wrong. If British giving land to Israel was wrong then so was they giving our land for Pakistan. This was my contention.

The land has a long lost relationship to both Jews and Palestinians.
Its good that they share the land rather than fight over petty differences based on religion.
We all inhibit this small planet which has offered more for human lives to sustain, in reply what do we give back. we fight over land, paint the land with blood of both the parties.

They came, they saw, they conquered and the rest is history. Making a big stink in the name of religion is very silly. Islam, just as Christianity in the new world spread at the tip of the sword as well.

The British received the right from the League of Nations which in 1920 declared that the British mandate on Palestine is for establishing a Jewish nation state.

After WWII the UN inherited the League of Nations and all its commitments, and this international guarantee was strengthened by resolution 181 of November 1947 which included a plan of the Partition of Palestine and establishing a Jewish state next to an Arab state.

And the rest is history.

Pakistan fought for its indepandance, it was British who did unjustice with Pakistan & gift strategic lands to India, didn't helped Pakistan when India launched its naked aggression & occupied several Pakistani lands such as, Junagadh & Manavadar, Hyderabad Deccan & Kashmir.

All UN General Assembly resolutions, including 181, are not mandatory unless the sides which are relevant to the decision accept them. Hence, Israel can justifiably ignore them.

The UN General Assembly adopted a partition plan in November 1947 and the creation of a Jewish nation state and it reinforced the decision of the League of Nations. Although it is not enough for establishing an independent state, it is more than enough to determine that Israel was established as a result of the will of the international community and not just Britain, as claimed in this thread.
