‘Who buys fish with a credit card here?’ Traders scoff at Goa’s bid to ditch cash

Well let me give u a real life example..
Daily in morning i go to a bakery shop for tea and cigrettes- 1cigrette and a cup of tea..costs me only -18rs in bangalore.
I dont pay him in cash..
So -i use paytm -just open scan and transfer..that bakery man is not a big businessman - he is a small with daily turnover of 2-4000rs..
Still he has paytm..he gets the cash pay the merchant through paytm from where he gets goods..
Isnt it simple ..
Vegetable shop, general store ,bakery , cloth shop all have paytm ..
It is 2 months ago i withdraw cash..
I heve heard that in northern india even a cigrette and pan gumti also has paytm..
So no matters who is making this type of paid news and what those saying who are out of india..we dont have a problem..
Yea some people are still not using paytm or other online transaction apps bcz they dont want to show the real money they make and still want to use the services provided by goi for the poorers..
So u guys keep enjoying and feeling pity on we indians who are suffering lol
Why dude why? Why are giving justifications to these fake articles? Did you see any Indian showing any problem? No? Then why give justification to foreign people about internal affairs?

54 inched chested Modi didn't think this through did he

He thought with his chest instead of his head.

Moody screwed up big this time

There will always be another side which is ok.

Though most people would like to believe what you guys say is correct however, changes are visible.

PayTM & other similar platforms are increasingly getting very popular. Thought absence of cash has impacted me in daily activities yet I feel its a step in the right direction.

I buy cigarettes through my mobile & so do so many others.

I just fainted. :girl_wacko:

Thats a very innovative thing to do with PayTM.

Vegetables ( some locations), meat, Cigarettes, Mithai, Chaat, Tikkas .. I was surprised yesterday ( Sunday) to see how many road side shops have switched to Pay TM.

In fact its better than using the Credit / Debit card for after sundown the No of users of cards are so many that the bank servers cannot take the load.

UPI is also catching up in a big way.

And they still call demonetisation a failure?
Lol

Well, what will eventually happen will be good but whats hitting everyone hard in the interim is the lack of cash & the lines at ATMs. Consequently, eveyone is holding on to currency , little is going back to the bank in form of deposits.

Today being Eid is a holiday - third bank holiday in a row Sat, Sun & Eid. This is silly, Sat need not have been a holiday under the circumstances.

Like I said, the execution sucks.

Why do you forget that some would have been offended had it not been a holiday? :)
This is the most practical govt we could ever get.

Give it time, will be back to normal in 12 months time

What kind of joke is this?? how do you help the poor fishermen if they are not able to sell and feed their families?

Modi said 50 days and just two more weeks to go. Yet there is shortage of cash in the banks and most ATM are idle.

12 months is a long time to ask a poor person to manage. Sorry to be blunt but Government has no right to play with peoples livelihood. They have to go in war footing to bring back the new notes into circulation first to replenish the old notes and then think about how to go cashless. There policy of going cashless when people are already suffering because of lack of cash is ridiculous.

The bjp miscalculation on the time to normalise the economy is what will affect them in the coming five state election.
