See that only works if the voter himself is not corrupt. Most Pakistani who vote for corrupt politicians are themselves people of bad morals, they just lack the opportunity to commit corruption using govt funds. Otherwise people would not vote for corrupt inviduals - regardless of which party they stood for.

That is perhaps the crux of the issue in this country.

Leaders grow from within a society, and I am afraid to say, our society is anything but exemplary. That is why it is in the best interests of the political establishment to keep the people as they are, and not enforce a rule of law, because it will come and bite them in the future.

People sometimes say that the Army or the establishment is a form of elite class. And I might agree with that, but them being an elite class and in a way, above the corrupt and dismantled societal framework is perhaps the only reason they are perhaps the only functioning institution of this country. Don't get me wrong here, they do have PLENTY of corrupt elements in between themselves and there's plenty of problems there too, but they pale in comparison to the mess that the civilian society is.

There is zero evidence that PMLN or PPP have any deal with the military. The nation is going through extremely difficult crises. Many of our own making thanks to the leaders we had. PTI is doing an ok job considering the cards they were dealt. PMLN have no solution and the average vote outside of their keema naan vote bank knows that. When your leader is sitting in London eating ice cream you are not a serious political threat to anyone. Zardari is probably dying of syphilis and his son cant speak urdu so lets not kid ourselvets PTI is here for a while. Like it or not. Deal with it.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People's Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf are in a strong position in their respective strongholds.

According to an Institute of Public Opinion Research (IPOR) survey, the PML-N is the most popular party in Punjab, with the support of 46pc of people in case of early elections. The PTI is second with 31pc voters’ backing. About 5pc will vote for the PPP, 3pc for the TLP, while 2pc intend to vote for the PMLQ.

Probably end of PTI and Imran Khan is near | selected by Army/ISI | And no real benefit to 220m Pakistanis ever given other than squeezing them

Test is simple. Let leaders of all these parties roam on the streets alone. Without security. Imran khan already done that in Islamabad. The day people will find Nawaz and Zardari on the street without their massive protocols they will be beaten to death! And rightfully so! From selling Pakistani lives to US Drones, to criminally damaging Pakistan's economy. These Bast*rds deserve to be killed brutally so that no one attempts to loot & plunder the country again!

Pretty much same as 2013 with exception PTI losing some ground in KPK and PPPP some in sindh

So new election will be PTI losing more seats and may be becoming second party behind PMLN unless south punjab side withPTI again
Still not enough for 2/3 majority but good enough for governance

"liberals" (I include working class people like factory workers in this list) historically voted for PPP in Punjab but now they vote PTI, some minority vote PMLN or most will stay out

Parts of Lahore were historical strongholds of PPP where even a donkey with PPP ticket can win due to working class people but now no one in Pakistan is targeting them

The Establishment is playing the political parties off against each other.

PPP is going to 'buy' elections in Punjab ... Zardari has bought a mansion in H block Model Town for this purpose and allocated 25 billion rupee budget for Lahore only ... in NA 133 by elections held last month PPP got more than 33 thousand votes (up from 4 thousand in the 2018 elections)... The 'rate' was set at rs 2000/vote .. will be 4-5k / vote in the 2023 general elections... They are going to win a few seats from Punjab this time around .. They have the 'word' ..

Yes, that's right .. but most of the PTI voters stayed at home and the turnout was exceptionally low (i.e 18% only, down from 52% in 2018) ..

There are around 40,000 registered minority (Christian) votes in that constituency ... Raja Pervez Ashraf played well ...

No, I don't think PTI has lost its support amongst educated voters anywhere in Pakistan, I don't listened to prostitute journalist and decide whom I am going to vote for and no one is stupid enough to take GEO surveys serious and decide lets bring in 3 time loser and rejected by Pakistanis in 2018 Nawaz sheriff back to power and see maybe he can change things this time.
