@Asim, I was having V4.1 on my IPhone, and Jailbreaking was very simple..Just type jailbreakme.com in your phone browser, and it would do the rest. Once Cydia is installed, then install "Installous", after that you get all applications you could possibly want.
I dont know if any Jailbreak is out for 4.2, so I am in no hurry to upgrade with Itunes, even though it keeps pstering me to do it.

All Firmware versions till now is supported for Jailbreak ... but simunlock is the problem for new modem versions

Firmware & modem versions are differ from each other .. you can downgrade firmware anytime you want but not the modem version .. so never ever update via Itunes directly ..

Don't need to break the contract - just need to append your contract. I think you can do it through Amazon.com. I wonder if American rules have changed tho. It has been a while since I lived there.

Finally i got HTC Bravo Desire ... & I really fcuked this phone's WIFI by updating it to Froyo ... I am still working on this phone right now
