What's new

Where are the retired aircrafts of PAF?

Some are on display in other countries as well...some were phased out and given to other countries (like the F-6 for Bangladesh Air Force)

Below is a Canadian made F-86 which saw action in Pakistan during 1971 with confirmed kills...

And here is one in the Chinese Aviation Museum...

I want to bring this thread back to live again, or maybe I missed a similar more recent one?

Anyway, I am documenting all monuments, planes on pedestals, in base collections and museums et cetera, in Pakistan.

Starting with some 'problem cases' if you don't mind ;-)

F-6 7712 is featured no less than *three* times on my list:

#1: 7712 Mianwali Outside the gate (put there around 2000 I think?)

#2: 7712 Kamra garrison housing area (put there in 2015 I believe, this is from February 2017):

#3: 7712 PAC Kamra at 1000th overhauled aircraft ceremony (March 2017)
(paint scheme is slightly different, so not the same one as is in the housing area!):

Maybe they all were prepared at PAC Kamra to represent aircraft '7712' from a photograph?
Anyone knowns which is which one? or will all future preserved F-6s be marked '7712'... ;-)

best regards,
Erwin

I think there is some sort of monument / museum on the western perimeter of Lahore airport; just south of Yaadgar-e-Shahuda park.
It has Alouette III #1821 and also an A-5C and T-33! Anyone have some pictures of those please?

best regards,
Erwin

Found it on facebook

Search on "Pakistan-Army-Museum-Lahore"

Also, History of Pia has a thread on it; Retired Helicopters Displayed at Pakistan Army Museum in Lahore
search on: "Pakistan Army Museum in Lahore"

- sorry not allowed to post direct hyperlinks here yet :-(

Turns out there is an AH-1F, a SA316B, a Mi-17 and a T-33, nice!

best regards,
Erwin

Thanks Hell Hound, that is 10425. It is at the junction of the railway overpass x Manthar rd. At least since 2004.

By the way, these are the *70* F-6s I have in my list.

As you can see; some have FAKE painted serials or still unknown identities "...", mainly because they are in restricted area.

They are in the alphabetical order of the city of preservation and I chose the pdf format because it becomes a mess if I just paste it in a message...

Please help me find the identities of the unknown ones, and of course, to discover even more!

best regards,
Erwin

Can't help with much else, however a number of retired air frames can be seen parked around Peshawar air base.

There is a stock there to provide many cities, schools and military facilities with their own aircraft monument!

Could it be a mix of different aircraft? I think I see both A-5 (with the camo-pattern) and F/FT-6 as well as a couple of Sabres in the mix. Boy, I would love to walk along that row...

Erwin

There is one at Westridge Park, Rawalpindi. We call the park "Westeridge Jahaz Park"

There are 2 boneyards in the karachi area. drigh road where F6s are parked and Masroor where obsolete and derelict aircraft are dumped like F86, T33 and B57. Another boneyard is at Kamra where carcass of Mirage aircraft are kept which were brought for spares use.

Will PAF gonna allow us to scrap their aircraft for a reasonable amount of money.

Like in case; if we ask PAF to sell us their Aircrafts which they have retired and instead of decorating and putting in places where it will have no use at all. Why they simply sell it off to us for Scrap?

Same goes for Army and Navy

Just a thought, Shouldn't these air crafts be converted to ground attack air crafts and given to Pak Army? it will help a lot against tanks.

Aren't several A-5's and F-6's stored away for a reason ??
