As far as i know, we consider him Munafiq, so you can claim him we don't need to call him Muslim. I will be a shame for Muslims to call him Muslim. In Islam it is forbid to practice other religion but you must respect other religion.

Neither did I call him a Muslim. @Srinivas said that Kalam was an Arabic name and not a Muslim name, implying APJ Abdul Kalam, does not have to give up on his name even if he wasn't a Muslim. I gave an example about how there can be Arab names for non-Muslims just as Abdul Kalam did. Now you are coming up with an argument he is not a Muslim. Where did I ever deny that? He is a person with an Arab name and not a Muslim name (given to him by his parents since Arabic influences were there on his culture). Simple as that.

In his entire perfect life Kalam was a true Indian that totally accepted the greatness of Indian tradition.
And he was a true muslim also .He didnt have to prove that t so called secular Muslim lords in India .
