Whats going on in Bangladesh???

1: As usual Indians want to play jiggy with BD elections to bring AL back in power.

2: JEI leader who was hanged in what many are calling a 'judicial assasination', posed a threat to AL. His death is resulting in protests with more planned in coming days.

3: BNP is boycotting elections....along with JEI?

4: Hasina wants to cling on to power to secure her victory instead of allowing the 'caretaker govt' to take charge and conduct free and fair elections. Many of her candidates will win 'unopposed'.


This is explosive situation, and let me say that im fearful of a potential civil strife which again might benefit India for they won't stop intervening. For keeping their minnions in power they might intervene militarly should the situation spin out of their control.

Will the elections go ahead?

What would be an 'unopposed' AL govt look like?


How serious is the potential for further bloodshed?

Is Army likely to intervene if it hits the fan??

Coming from a MOD, this childish thread looks interesting.!
Let me ask how many countries establish caretaker govt to conduct elections? Its the responsibility of Election Commission. BNP wants to create ruckus. They do not want peace.

Its high time the war criminals are hanged. Judicial assasination is the terms given by JEI. Who is responsible for the assassinations done by them? Even now everyday !

UN should conduct the elections this time, so the blame does not come on India.

As for future bloodshed, its the only thing the JEI knows to do,!

Looks like indians invaded the thread even before any Bangladeshi respond to it. Anyway, latest is

Despite indiscriminate killing by Awami League directed force, people with their bare hands put up unprecedented resistance in all over Bangladesh. Opposition is observing blockade and strike and Awami League regime lost control of almost all districts except Dhaka. Awami League have ordered to fortify Dhaka in last ditch effort to cling into power.

In the mean time Awami League orchestrated many sabotage and tried to blame on opposition but caught red handed in many occasion. Many media has been gagged and recent survey by an international organization revealed that surviving media are Awami League bully puppet.

UN effort to create neutral and even playing election environment failed because of Indian and Awami League scheme to have farcical election and one party rule.

UN GS and US of secretary of State called Hasina for free and fair election along with not to execute Kader Mollah but Hasina with Indian support turn her back on them.

India counting Awami League as last hope for its war and failing in so many ways. No political party is participating in farcical election. Indian directed and Awami League produced one party farcical election become so comical that in 104 seat Awami League candidate won (no contest) even before vote.

India for its part sent its foreign secretary to Dhaka to convince Jatiya Party (a regionally strong party) to force participate but they declined. Since then Jatiya party chief Ershad had been under arrest. Indian foreign secretary also went to US to push US to support indian war and install Awami League but it seems US did not fall for it.

Desperate India and Awami League is creating excuse for deploy army and crash peoples movement. Saheed Kader Mollah (JI Leader) execution in already sensitive time was one such excuse but Jamaat did not fall for that trap.

Next: Bangladesh will be observing 16 December victory day and movement is expected to intensify even more after 16th. And Awami League will try to use its killing machines along with army if possible but Army's willingness to stand against people of Bangladesh is a big question mark. Although there were reports, many of army's top brass are Awami League party loyal or bought off but Bangladesh has to wait and see which way army react. This could be a long road to REAL freedom for Bangladesh.

Sitting in West Bengal and seeing Bengali newspapers giving almost daily updates on BD election, it seems that the situation there is in mess. Our main concern is refugee problem like 1971. Now, both Delhi and State Government are monitoring the border strictly and Delhi is trying to avoid such situation.

One other action India and Awami League may pursue, arresting BNP chief Khaleda Zia.

If top brass push to stand against people and order to shoot them, break down between top brass and others are REAL possibility.

Army crackdown if it happens will be directed against people to keep AL afloat.

Sign of self motivated army intervention to create stable ground still is not there. But if Awami League fail to convince army to crack down and/or loose control of Dhaka then there may be situation for army to step in as interim measure before a free and fair election.

In a free and fair environment 18 party alliance led by BNP will win overwhelming majority.
