Or Ribbe, which is a more Norwegian dish.
I find Turkey a bit too dry, and it's not cheap either
. So pork ribs or ham are the way to go, and are more traditional.
For dessert possibly risgrøt

I pose a question to get the conversation started so that Techno would be like 'you know what Armstrong...why don't you come over as well so that we don't sit in awkward silence' but no...nada.
Well we didn't sit in silence. Getting together with both of our sets of parents is always a lively affair. It was weird, my mom kissed my forehead the moment she saw me, so starting off the day embarrassed as an interesting take, but they loved little Kat and will be here for a few more days, so I guess things will mellow out considerably.
Still have mixed feelings about seeing them again, but everyone else is enjoying themselves, so meh, my feelings

If I seem pissy over the next few days don't mind me. Having your parents around kind of disrupts some normal activities that people who love each other... actually, I'll tell you when you're older

Rice pudding? That's traditional Norwegian food. Not always as a dessert, sometimes it's part of the supper meal, but it's a staple of Norwegian culture.
For us the holiday season goes a bit longer and starts a bit earlier, so you're actually late
. From the 22nd to the 28th is when we celebrate.
P.S I read what you said about Pakistani Norwegians; that was very kind and thoughtful of you.
But of course I think its all down to me enabling you to form such a positive image of Pakistanis...I mean not to brag or anything but I do think I'm awesome!

, was filled with people not waiting for more accurate information to come in, against my warnings
!! Seriously, people? I ask you to wait a bit for the situation to become less fluid and more concrete info to emerge and what do you do? Jump the gun and post anything that comes out in the early hours of the event - most of which is at that point wrong.
And so was the info on the suspect at that point. A Pakistani was arrested, but later released as it came to be known that he wasn't involved. But that didn't stop people from piling on Pakistanis anyway... it never does.
That doesn't sit well with some of us like waz or I, who've been in Europe long enough to know that Pakistanis have never been a problem or issue for the continent. It's always been the opposite.
I thought it'd be nice to show people exactly that and that their giddiness and willingness to cheer the arresting of the Pakistani individual when the situation was still so fluid, was misguided at best.
More then just being nice or saying nice things about the Pakistani community in Norway, I wanted to show how they really are and how they're really received in our country, because in Norway they've made incredible steps to integrate into our society, often at the expense of their own customs or norms.
And for that we're grateful.
