Spent a week with a group of boys and girls from southern Turkey. Zoroastrian Kurds.

It is very different there to what we think here in India .... another world. One I hope we never let on to our soil.

And I make sure the twain never meets.

Zoroastrians for one in that part of the world (middle east) are seen very different to how they are seen in Indian and probably Pakistan.

Two, we think they are a modern advanced almost European country.

But in that part of the world, including Iran, violence and bloodshed is not far away from normal day to day life.

Such is not yet the feeling within our own populace.

Automatic weapons and IEDs. Women and teenage boys at the front lines ...

I also learned about (and met) some Kakayi (sp?) recently in New York. They follow a Shia-overcolored form of Zoroastrianism. Even smaller than the Yazidi. Virtually unknown. @Cthulhu ?
