I actually do! While talking privately with the good Indus Falcon recently, it came back to mind
that a positive post by a Westerner might help. I am admittedly often alone in saying so but I
think Pakistan is a success story of sorts.
Once one forgets stupid comparisons ( w/China, India or further out US/UK/Fr etc ) and ignores
the US Congress' far right, there is a basis for admiration.
Say we take only nations born since 1947. Say we remove those that started with full chests of riches;
Thinking of the partition imposed by the colonial "heritage" ( herein negative ) then the refugee/ migration influx
and the various peoples / cultures involved and of course the difficult neighbourhood;
& adding the religious element of course … I find the road taken reasonable.
Sure, the need for a strong central power had the military in charge but it worked most times
and apparently did not quench the progressive trek of the nation yet.
Jinnah, B. Bhutto, names that have permeated in the West, are waiting for their successor(s).
That list or that of firsts ( nuclear Islamic Republic for ex. ) are not closed but wide open.
At nearly 70 and still kicking, Pakistan would be an old man but it's not :
it's a just weaned baby, at most a toddler, as nations go. Go kid Go, the future is your oyster!
The only reason I did not thank or comment on these matters is that on them, I am but a student.
