I am sorry for the late response, I just recently gave & received the results for my IELTS exam & am still somewhat busy with other activities.

Since there is no point in discussing the full topic anymore, I will just respond to some parts of the post. I am shifting the response to this thread because the other thread has been dead for quite a while.

In any case, your discussion on the Holocaust in the other thread was very interesting. I learnt quite a bit from it, even though I still have some doubts & confusions pertaining to the facts regarding the holocaust.

I shall continue to follow that thread to learn whatever I can, & the fact that both perspectives are being put forward there will be useful for understanding the various facts, myths, & points of view on this subject.

Regarding Leon Degrelle's Book, i highly recommend reading it. It is well worth the read for anyone really. I'd put it right up there with epic stories like the odyssey though it isn't fictional and doesn't contain any monsters. Every page of Degrelle's book is worthy of reading.

Yeah, I have been a bit too lazy to read that book due to some other activities, but I will try and make some time for it soon.

Regarding Islamic Economic Model, i've heard a lot about it from members here on this forum yet no one really explained this model to me and how it would work also why no Muslim country has implemented this model yet.

I know some of the basics of Islamic economic jurisprudence, & it includes things like discouraging hoarding of resources in times of speculation, welfare, etc. This model in particular states that God is the sole owner of everything on Earth, & man being His vicegerent is thus allowed to hold property in trust. All natural resources including water, mines, et cetera are considered government property & private owners have no right to them. This is meant to ensure that private owners do not withhold supplies to resources everyone in the community has a right to attain. Of course, private property in the form of land, businesses, et cetera exists & may be owned by individuals too. Capitalism in its early form existed within the Caliphate, & traders & entrepreneurs were free to innovate & compete with each other by attempting to gain a competitive advantage. Keep in mind that Islam prohibits monopolies, oligarchies or the formation of any other cartel to prevent social injustice. Patents are allowed provided that the patented idea is actually put to use, & this basically means that it’s forbidden for an organisation to patent an innovation & then not make use of that innovation in their products or services to serve society. This implies that if someone else were to come up with the same idea, you would be forbidden to demand royalties simply because you have had an innovation patented without practice.

Of course, I am not entirely sure of Islamic economic jurisprudence’s views on how to handle the formation of a monopoly via competitive advantage. This economic model somewhat encourages the free flow of information so activities like buying & selling between 2 parties alone is discouraged. The monetary & fiscal policy is similar to other economic theories so there isn't much to note there. The government may also give benefits to startup businesses or new entrepreneurs similar to other economic theories. I am somewhat confused regarding interests & the time value of money when it comes to Islamic banking & I haven’t read up on that in lots of detail either. Implementing such a model would be extremely difficult in a country like Pakistan, considering the fact that our politicians themselves desire to monopolise businesses for the sake of their own families. Let’s not forget that feudalism still exists in Pakistan & influential Landlords still control the use of some agricultural land & resources; a practice forbidden by Islamic jurisprudence. There are a number of problems to resolve before this concept could be applied in Pakistan assuming people consider it a good idea in the first place.

Yeah, that's true actually. It was the Germanic's natural aversion to Roman authority and even cultural/traditional norms which prevented them from accepting Arminius' leadership after the battle's were won. But the bright side to that is that they were not influenced by the degeneracy that had become prevalent throughout the Roman Empire. They did however evolve on their own into a powerful entity, eventually far more stronger and dominating than Rome.

Yeah, the cultures originating from Germanic expansion are among the most influential in Europe. In fact, Europe as we know it today would not exist without the Greeks, Romans, & the Germanic tribes. It's true that Germany turned out to be quite impressive later on, & let's not forget the role the Germanic people played in defending Europe during the Medieval Age. Personally, I feel that Rome has historically had more influence on Europe overall when we take Christianity, the Romance languages, representative democracy, et cetera in to consideration. Furthermore, the Italian Renaissance, which in itself required recovering the lost Roman knowledge, would later become the source of inspiration for the German Renaissance. Of course, the Germans made heavy contributions to philosophy, architecture, & the natural sciences during this period too. The distinctive feature of the German Renaissance is that while its basis may have been in Italy, the Germans were able to benefit from it without overriding or corrupting their own culture & values.

Yeah, that's actually true. After watching movies like Saving Private Ryan and some of those gory Zombie flicks those Syrian War videos with all the bloodshed don't seem too shocking but that doesn't undermine their seriousness and the tragedy though.

I agree, while the human mind has a remarkable ability to get used to pretty much all sorts of circumstances, brutality will always be tragic & regrettable. Interestingly, brutality during sporting events isn’t entirely native to Roman culture, but is something adopted from living with the Etruscans in the past. The Etruscans were extremely fond of violence, & their funeral rites even include death of a deceased’s slaves, which may include getting the slaves to battle each other until death.
