Air Force can not do any thing significant to Iranian soldiers. Iran is very capable in passive defense beside of having strong Active Air defense. Iran's strategy of fight is asymmetric warfare. If US Air Force (beside presence of ground units) is not capable of doing much to Taliban Fighters,Then how do you expect them to eliminate millions of Basiji forces ????
US Strategy failed against simple militant groups in Lebanon and Afghanistan. It will definitely double fail against Iranian asymmetric doctrine and missile counter attacks.

Thats where Tomahawks come handy, with 2500 KM range, they will come from the blue sky and hit the installations where needed. USA has standoff weapons, so it is not affected, yet punishing its adversary at will.

Iran can have all the super dupa anti-ship missiles and cruise missiles that are the best in the world, but it will be all in vain. When the damge is done it is done. If they close the hormus in retailiation an invasion will follow I suspect.

The objective is to convince Iran to stop its nuclear program. An occupation is not necessary but it will be if Iran closes hormus.

Tor M1 is not cent percent accurate against Cruise Missiles, so is Pantsir with 50KM range and RAAD is anti aircraft type.
It is difficult to shoot cruise missile. USA would have a playground and fun.
