Marriott Hotel has now become a ghost house which was yesterday the most beautiful and prestigious hotels in the Islamabad. While the condemnation of the blasts and the deaths and the loss of property is going on from all the quarters, some intriguing news is also pouring in.

After the blast, mysteriously fire was started at the fourth and fifth floors. It was said that this fire was the result of gas pipeline burst running through the hotel. The million dollar question is that was the gas pipeline not running through the other floors? Why the fire broke out from the fourth and fifth flours? That is the question which perhaps holds the key to the mystery as why the hotel was targeted yesterday, in which more than 60 people died including many foreigners.

Though it would never get confirmed but the fire on the fifth and fourth floor of the hotel broke out because those flours were housing the mysterious steel boxes under the heavy guard of United States marines and no one including the Pakistani security forces and the security men of the hotel were allowed to go near with the them. These boxes were shifted inside the hotel when the Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad.

It is said that one member of parliament Mumtaz Alam who belongs to the PPP, the ruling party was there eye witnessed the whole scene when the white truck of US embassy came to the gate of Marriot Hotel and US marines themselves unloaded the steel boxes from the trucks and shifted them to the fourth and fifth floors without passing through them the scanners at the entrance of the hotels. When the truck was there, all the entrance and the exit passage way to the hotels were closed.

And now this blast has occurred at the Marriott, while that mysterious activity was going on.

Was there a top secret and mysterious operation of the US Marines going on inside the Marriott when it was attacked on Saturday evening? No one will confirm it but circumstantial evidence is in abundance.

Witnessed by many, including a PPP MNA and his friends, a US embassy truckload of steel boxes was unloaded and shifted inside the Marriott Hotel on the same night when Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad.

Both the main gates (the entrance and the exit) of the hotel were closed while no one except the US Marines were either allowed to go near the truck or get the steel boxes unloaded or shift them inside the hotel. These steel boxes were not passed through the scanners installed at the entrance of the hotel lobby and were reportedly shifted to the fourth and fifth floors of the Marriott.

Besides several others, PPP MNA Mumtaz Alam Gilani and his two friends, Sajjad Chaudhry, a PPP leader, and one Bashir Nadeem, witnessed this mysterious activity to which no one other than the PPP MNA objected and protested.

A source present there told that after entertaining them with refreshments at the Nadia restaurant at midnight when Mumtaz Alam, along with his friends, was to leave the hotel, he found a white US embassy truck standing right in front of the hotel's main entrance.

Both the In-gate and the Out-gate of the hotel were closed while almost a dozen well-built US Marines in their usual fatigues were unloading the steel boxes from the truck. No one, including the hotel security men, was either allowed to go near the truck or touch the steel boxes, which were being shifted inside the hotel but without passing through the scanners.

Upon inquiry, one of the three PPP friends who was waiting for the main gates of the hotel to open to get his car in, was informed that the suspicious boxes were shifted to the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Mumtaz Alam was furious both at the US Marines and the hotel security not only for the delay caused to them but also for the security lapse he was witnessing.

On his protest, there was absolutely no response from the Marines and the security men he approached were found helpless. Mumtaz Alam told the hotel security official that they were going to endanger the hotel and its security. He was also heard telling his friends that he would never visit the hotel again. He also threatened to raise the issue in parliament.

One does not know whether the PPP MNA revisited the hotel after that mysterious midnight but his brother Imtiaz Alam, who is a senior journalist, was in the same hotel when the truck exploded at the main gate of the hotel. Imtiaz Alam had a lucky escape and found his way out of the hotel with great difficulty in pitch darkness.

One of the lifts he was using fell to the ground floor just after he forced the door open on the 4th floor and got out of it.

-if these boxes stored explosives lets say "C4" then why wasn't their any secondary explosions after the truck blast??
- this is US marines we are talking about even their body is protected with bullet proof vest and you guys think that these "classified" boxes are not going to be fire proof?
-and mind you guys... no matter where on earth US embassy is located, Marines are always (no mater what) dispatched their to protect US embassy documents and ambassador..
Marines are provided with their own residence, depending on the type of missions they may be 10 or 20 Marines... you bet Marine's full combat gear is also stored!
in case of pakistan... i am pretty much sure that they are not provided with separate residence (for security reasons) and thus had to live in hotel.

my guess is that 4th and 5th floor took most impact of the blast and considering mediocre standard of pakistani construction, you never know where gas leak, water lea going to happen.

these boxes could be Marines' secret version of you know those cases high profile bodyguards carry around and we just wonder whats inside. i am pretty much sure when lets say sectary of sate "US" visit pakistan, i highly dough that we check out their bodyguards first what they are carrying around..
those boxes are suppose to be kept with marines 24/7... i am not trying to defend them.. nether those boxes contained boxes of chocolate... sure we should know what was inside but thats just the way how these americans do their business with every body..

Its not strange at all. Those familiar with US military activities overseas know that they always act as if they are a law unto their own. Remember the us based which was set up in the sixties at Badaber near Peshawar, and then closed down in 68? We all know how the US military's attitude forced the closure.
And US army presence in Phillipines has raised many questions even in the international media. They generally go about behaving as if they are not subject to any law, or norms in their host country.

I hope many of you would have visited Serina & Marriott Hotel in Islamabad but if you noticed carefully you will find out that there are several rooms booked by US embassy and they remain booked there for year or two. What surprizes me is the fact that several US Army personnal (retired) are staying there since very long time.

When last year i visited Serina Hotel Islamabad, I noticed that and when I asked one of the staff members about a particular person, they told me that he was US Army ex Brig Gen and he was running an education project for organization USAID. It surprized me even then that an ex US Army high ranking officer was running an education project for USAID.

Of course for their 'actual activities' they need to change identities and lot of other stuff.

Same activities must would have been going on by US Army in Marriott Hotel.

ISI do check the hotel enteries "every day" and they report it as per SOP but there are limitations as nothing can be done with out approval of GOP.

well is one of Two 5 Start hotel the Islamabad had. So every Foreigner wants to be their plus it is in Security compound. Even diplomat stays their.

Please allow me to clarify a few issues:

I want to end this conspiracy right now with regards to this being an attack against foreigners or the US in particular; this was an Attack against Pakistanis like you and me.

Just to clarify, US Marines and other military officials from the US have been guests in Marriott for decades. Anyone here in the know can testify to this, they stay here "Marriott" and at Serena primarily due to the fact that when they are waiting to be shipped out there is no room in the Embassy to accommodate, it is standard protocol everywhere.

And yes when high level dignitaries visit the hotel and their protective security detail including but not limited to US STATE DEPT (Bureau of Diplomatic Security Agents) and USMC (MSG) are allowed to enter the hotel with their weapons (covert) as long as the submit a dossier on the complete personal security detail that will be attending, with the dignitaries one copy goes to – Hotel’s Chief Security Officer and one copy is sent to SSP DPD: Diplomatic Protection Department, Islamabad.

Secondly the Marines seen after the blast and the ones the stupid dramatic press keep referring to are USMC - MSG: Marine Security Guards stationed permanently at the US Mission in Islamabad, they were deployed by the state-department on what’s called rescue, recovery and repatriation to search for and evacuate from scene the three US Diplomats that were having lunch at the Marriott.

This was an attack on Pakistanis and Pakistan itself, not the Americans or the British or the Hashoo group that own Marriott… Ordinary Pakistanis died yesterday and ordinary Pakistani will continue to die unless we make a concerted effort at a national level to change our direction.
