What Muslim country is ideologically most similar to Pakistan?

.
We are very much like India. But there is no similarity between Pakistan and other Muslim country. Although, western part of part of Pakistan resembles Afghanistan, but with better law enforcement. Western part of Pakistan looks more like India, but Islamic.

Agree. Peer Sahib.

India and Pakistan are similar, in the sense, that both are multi-ethnic states, primarily internally bound by the power of religion and cultural proximity.

Kitna rape hoy kitny hazaar log do Dino m maaray gy?
I know comparing some Pakistani to Indian is like calling him a name. But we are actually advanced version of Indians. Pakistanis don't have certain features, like raping any woman that we can, or burning homes of minorities, because we Pakistanis, majority of us, doesn't believe in democracy.
But mob lynching, is also present in Pakistan. Although we don't kill people for fun, as Indians do, but we do.

Looks like I missed a lot while I was gone.

Between Turkey and Arab countries, I don’t think either is that similar to Pakistan. Turkey is more similar to Europe and Arab countries are really their own unique culture. I could never understand what Arab culture is about, because Arab countries have this weird ideology about being Islamic but promoting secularism and monarchy. And Arab countries have always liked collective Pan-Arabism instead of nationalism. Arab countries also rely too much on US for security than using their own army. Afghanistan is more similar to Pakistan than either Turkey or Arab countries but walking in Kabul does not feel similar to walking in Lahore or Karachi because 19 years of war has changed so much about Afghanistan.

I would say Iran is probably the closest to Pakistan. There are too many similarities between Pakistan and Iran to list:

Parliament System
Proudly Islamic
Strong Military
Powerful enemies
Very nationalistic
Ethnically Diverse
Culturally conservative
Liberal youth gen
Economic challenges
Disliked by west
Nukes (Maybe?)
Nastaliq writing

I don’t think there is any other country besides Iran that has that many things in common with Pakistan.

There are some differences.

Driving left vs right
Population difference
Poverty, health, literacy
Sanctions and Isolation
Economic Development
Oil Exports and Industry
Revolution and History
Sunni vs Shia traditions
Food, Dress, Holidays

In spite of these differences, Pakistan will eventually improve its literacy and health, Iran is starting to diversify its economy away from oil. Pakistan will have a better economy and less poverty like Iran today. Iran may one day get nukes or get rid of sanctions like Pakistan today.

I think over time, Pakistan and Iran will become more similar to each other in many ways as time goes on. They can learn a lot from each other.

I don’t think there is any country that feels more similar to Pakistan than Iran ideologically, socially, and physically. There are some places in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz that feel similar when you walk through them and remind you of familiar places and a shared heritage.

Margalla Hills vs the Alborz Mountains
Arabian Sea vs the Caspian Sea
Nanga Parbat vs Mount Damavand
Makran Coast vs Persian Gulf
Walled City vs Naqsh-e-Jahan
Lahore Fort vs Qeysarie Gate
Badshahi Mosque vs Shah Mosque
Minaret-e-Pakistan vs Azadi Tower
Liberty Chowk vs Enghelab Square
Jinnah Avenue vs Navvab Expwy
Mazar-e-Quaid vs Behest-e-Zahra
Daman-e-Koh vs Baam-e-Tehran
Shakarparian vs Niavaran Park
Shalimar Bagh vs Baq-e-Eram
Mazar-e-Iqbal vs Hafeziah
Anarkali vs Bazar-e-Bozorg
Hiran Minar vs Khaju Bridge
Khyber Pass vs Quran Gate
Mohenjodaro vs Persepolis
Rukni-e-Alam vs Soltaniyeh
Sehra Kharan vs Dasht-e-Kavir
Sheesh Mahal vs Golestan Palace
Khalpu Fort vs Sa'dabad Complex
Takht-e-Bahi vs Takht-e-Jamshid
Darawar Fort vs Arg-e-Karimkhan
Wazir Khan Mosque vs Nasir-ul-Mulk
Tomb of Jahangir vs Tomb of Ferdowsi
Bangladesh would sound closer too. We have similar sects

Maloq when did you see common Pakistanis frequently engaging in mob lynching and rioting against each other?
Indian Muslims he meant probably

The problems in Pakistani society are more due our weak law enforcement. Weaker the law enforcement go, more we will like Indians, more civil unrest will increase, more we will like Afghanis. @Mentee

I would say Ironically it's India.
India was made as a country for Hindus and Pakistan for the muslims.
They are like 2 sides of the same coin. Only difference is religion. Both countries use religion as primary means of uniting the dozens of ethnic groups and languages within it's borders.

If you are asking for a purely Islamic country then I can't think of one. Most Islamic countries are based on ethnic cultural identity.

You are full of it. You know that right.

There are also major racial, genetic and cultural differences between indians and Pakistanis. They are very different.

We are an incredibly unique country.

We're multi ethnic, multi lingual and we were created mainly as a homeland for a religious majority (Muslims) so that we could both survive and thrive from outside of the shadow of the Hindu majority of British India. Our borders and our geography isn't by accident either.

There are countries that we will share attributes with - but nobody else is quite like us.

I find to be the exact opposite of it. The law enforcement agencies are more powerful in terms of enforcing order on commons than ever before.

Not believing in something doesn't make you sexaully assualt women? What kind of logic is this?

In India today, we are observing the worst kind of democracy. Its really a tyranny of majority. That's why I said that.

You are full of it. You know that right.
I actually accept that. But, Islam on a national level, prohibits, actually stops us, from doing things, which in India people don't hesitate to do, generally.
But shit happens around the globe, and Pakistan is no exception.

Pak is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Ranks at 120th. Strictly if Pak was guided by Islam principles this will not be the case. None of the indicators puts Pak in any reasonable good standing. Going by media reports rapes occurrences high in Pak with high incidence of paedophilia. Do not hide behind religion.

Pakistanis trying hard to project a good boy image is a very recent phenomena.

I never denied much of the things you wrote. We are bad too.
And if we are the only country where people are committing crimes, then may Allah destroy us soon. If not, then none of your allegations are particular with Pakistan. And if this is so, then let's not blame each other. We are all bad. But in some societies, either law is a prohibiting factor, and in others is religion. In Pakistan, its religion. That was my actual point.
