What kind of life can you get in China with 1000 cny income per month per capita?

. . .
It's quite the opposite in Singapore lol.

In China, rents are cheap but property prices are expensive.

Property prices in China varies a lot, depending on the cities. In majority of prefecture-level cities, housing price is around 800~1,000 USD per sq m. And yes, I believe the ratio of property price to the rent is way too high in big first tier cities, as compared to the majority of smaller cities.

And Chinese cities are very large by administrative area, which is different from cities in many other countries. A Chinese city is more like a metropolitan area in other countries, and therefore a 'district' within a Chinese city is more similar to NYC or Tokyo area wise.

So you have to look at prices within the 'district' or 'ring road', rather than prices within the whole city which is too 笼统. And then within the 'district', you have to see whether you're in a 学区房 area or not, or which school you're near to. Many factors to consider in China lol.
