He has another one shoot years ago with more traffic. Lots lots of BMW, Mercedes, and Audi on the road:
The tier 2 cities here are called 'new tier 1' cities by the latest definition. And former tier 3 cities such as Nanning, etc. are now tier 2. Majority of cities in China are non-provincial capital prefecture-level cities (~260 of them), in which 4K is more than enough for any family to live a decent life. But sure, if you want to go to tier 1 cities without getting a high-pay job, then Good luck...This is roughly how much you need to support a family of three (parents + 1 child) in China per month.
Tier 1 (8 to 10k RMB) - Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou
Tier 2 (5 to 7k RMB) - Wuhan, Nanjing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Qingdao, Changsha etc
Tier 3 (~4k RMB) - Any city in China between 2 to 5 million population
Tier 4 (~3k RMB) - Cities with 1 to 2 million in population
Tier 5 (~2k RMB) - Small cities and townships
We still have a long ways to go in raising the national income level and alleviating poverty. I think we can eliminate absolute poverty by 2025, but relative poverty is going to be a long term struggle. Chinese shouldn't be celebrating half way in the fight.
On the bright side, if we're already world's second largest economy with half of our population still being relatively poor, imagine the economic power China can wield in the future.

Thank you so much for posting these impressive videos. Beautiful cities and just truly an amazing another world.
Your welcome I forget to add Shenzhen.

Its only a small village in 1980

Shenzhen is my favorite city in Southern China Region @Rafeh
You are absolutely right, Shenzhen is a remarkable city. Yes off course, its very beautiful, in a very unique Shenzhen way.
I can say this, I have been to every major European country and a lot in the rest of the world. Once you been through all of them, and lived in them, you get too much used to them. I still feel happy when I visit Bosnia, Turkey and middle east since I have friends there and due to cultural and other reasons. But everywhere else wherever I go now I don’t get much excited most of the time since many of the places feel same old same old (except Africa perhaps).
But towards the end of next year or a bit later, I am going to my country Pakistan, Russia and China. I added China because I realized I must see it, staying enough time to let it sink in, at least some of it.
The atmosphere, people, uniquely Chinese way of building cities and all the other things I can’t pin point but they are still there and give a uniquely positive and very beautiful feelings when not just viewing Chinese cities but also Chinese landscape and country side. China also has a very beautiful country side. Even old Chinese cities or the one still developing have their own unique beauty and charm. I must mention that I grew up watching Chinese movies of the 90s as a kid from Hong Kong that often had English subtitles in them (my uncle used to rent them) plus I have many Chinese friends here. So I am not new to China.
Finally as I said before, China is an amazing new world that is heading towards becoming something uniquely beautiful in its own way. It already was but now modernity has added its own new flavor to it. Even those who hate china and yet when they visit Chinese cities and comeback, they are genuinely impressed. I met many of them.
Regardless of our differences and issues at times, it’s really good to have China and Chinese people in the world.
I can’t say much now since I am going to another city so I won’t be here on PDF for a while. But I will say this:
This world is an amazing place because of its diversity. Emerging China is a new mesmerizing world that is taking shape, and its cities are definitely worth visiting for they invoke uniquely positive feelings and provide their own unique exciting experience. Modern China is truly a new beautiful world to see and experience.
Very well said indeed, my friend.
I'm feeling the same with you. Yes, Chinese cities are very unique in their own way.
I'm already visit some europe and Chinese cities. But the feel, the vibrant I got from Chinese cities is different from europe and even many other part of Asia.
You can visit Shanghai and Shenzhen for Vibrant Megapolitan like Seoul or Tokyo.
If you prefer the Culture & History, you can visit Beijing and Chongqing.
Or Xian if you want Islamic taste and Harbin for Russian taste
If you go for Culinary, Guangzhou and Chengdu is the best choice
But if you want to taste the best tea in the world, Hangzhou is preffered choice to feel uniqueness of Chinese tea
I'm curious too with life in countryside of China, especially in Sichuan province. I find many videos about living in China's countryside or small town.
This one is for example, in a good way of course
Anyway, nice to meet people with broad minded view like you. My respect for you, sir @Rafeh
Do you have youtube channel?

2500~5000 yuan including over time is in the past, now you take at least 4000 cny to hire a worker, and you have to provide meals, and probably housing as well. You must be living in a small town probably 10 years back. Most operators in manufacturing industry makes 2500~5000 yuan per month including overtime and they save almost none unless dorms are provided by company.
I was in China for some time and apartment rent was approx 15000~25000 Yuan.
No one can survive in 1000 Yuan in Chinese A/B/C cities and I do not have idea bout country side. It's too low to survive.

And your 15000~25000 apartment must be a villa, or a big big apartment right in the city center of Beijing/Shanghai...
This is in Hefei, the provincial capital of Anhui province:
1000 Yuan per capita means 4000 Yuan per household.
Yes, it seems to me you have lived in a upper end community in an expensive city (Beijing/Shanghai/Shenzhen/Guangzhou), am I right? That's good!
There is a big disparity between income. Things are improving for good.
Our Ayi asked for 4500 and we like her and paid 6K/ months
