OTOH, i think we should have US type of system with executive team headed by President of Pakistan and all provinces should be given full autonomy like US States are given.

Islamic state.
Islam is going to dominate Europe.
Its already dominating europe.
Wake up boy we are not talking about Islam. We are talking about what kind of governance we want to see in Pakistan. If you feel Islamic Law or Shariah Law is best under current circumstances please enlighten us how as i do not agree Islamic Law at current situation is the best system of governance for Pakistan. You always need to set a platform before you can even talk about Islamic Law. At the moment we are heavily involved in INTERESTS and before we can think of imposing Shariah Law first you have to get rid of the basic problems such as Interests. We are tied up in such a system where we cannot even think of Shariah Law for the upcoming decades. There is nothing such as Shariah Law that can be implemented under such circumstances (in my humble opinion).

If you disagree please enlighten us with the facts and not by Youtube demographics/statistics of the Muslim population and we are talking about Pakistan not about one particular religion.
Why not? Without guns, swords or any of those stupid terrorists or suicide bombers.
Just give us the chance to explain islam.
and you will imediatly be muslim.
But its funny how the internet is anti-islam.
While the world getting dominated by islam in reality.
Ok i give you the chance to explain why you think Islamic Law should be implemented in Pakistan and how can we do that? as i do not even know the basic criteria to impose Shariah Law and even if we impose shariah will other Non-Muslim Pakistanis be agree to this decision or will they be waging another war of Independance in Pakistan?

@ topic

Please try not to go in-depth about Shariah Law - this is such a topic that always derails the thread. I would be happy to read if you can back your claim with points and not induldging yourself in arguments

Thank You,

I agree with you, i don't why but i am little bit leaned towards US Constitutional Republic and Marxism. I would definitely want to see US type of system in Pakistan. It is far better set up than our current Democratic system as i also find it one step closer to the Islamic Law.

I am hopeful that people of Pakistan, especially the young entrepreneurial and the professional classes, will continue to do their best to help extend the positive legacies of Musharraf-Aziz years. I believe it can be safely said that the communications revolution (accompanied by dramatic growth in urbanization and the vociferous electronic and new media) as well as a significant enlargement of the middle class in Pakistan helped sow the seeds of the end of arbitrary actions by President Musharraf. In other words, Musharraf pulled a Gorbachev (a la perestroika that unleashed uncontrolled energies) by enabling powerful resistance to his arbitrary rule. Some of these changes that Musharraf brought are durable and I hope will make our rulers more accountable. There will still be abuse of power but the media spotlight will hopefully shine brightly on it to the detriment of the abusers. Eventually there will be real participatory democracy to serve all Pakistanis with appropriate checks and balances imposed by a much larger and more powerful and aware middle class essential for true democratic governance in Pakistan, or anywhere else.

Any form of government will do fine if it is not corrupt and functions as per the needs of people. at the end of the day common man in India or Pakistan strives for roti kapda aur makaan. any form of government which gives the same to the people of pakistan will be fine.

At the same time as being Indian i would like to see a stable neighbour with complete check on the Mullahs and anti India elements. a form of government which is ready to take non aggressive, not covert and non violent moves to solve the issues. a government which is ready to trash the muslim superiority and hindu inferiority mindset and promote peace with mutual respect to people on the both sides.

Democracy, governed by the sincere and capable people, elected by the literate and sincere Pakistanis, electing leaders who are not only capable to make good policies but actually good in implementing them!

And the same should be applied on to your side as well, with the reversal in roles. I am not trying to get into an argument but for starters the topic was addressed to Pakistanis, and secondly we will ask for your opinion when we will need it thanks but no thanks. :pakistan:

I am not sure how many voters discriminate between a democratic republic and a democratic *form* of government; for the purposes of this discussion, I think they should be added together. Very few people who are voting for democracy probably intend to highlight the difference between a republic and a democracy, i.e. to the extent that a republic offers protection of individual rights in the face of the views of the majority.

I voted "Republic" - I think something similar to a Turkish model should be adopted, with a few minor variations to adapt to our local circumstance.

Is it possible you can still Edit the polls? after the votes have been casted?

May be you can merge both polls together along with the votes? I would want to see Socialists, Republic and Democracy to be added/counted in one poll only

And i voted for Republic too - keeping US and turkish model in my mind :P

Democracy-Parliamentarian System with a blend of Good-Capitalism and Good-Communism.

Capitalism only favors the rich as rich get richer and poor gets poorer...!!!

.
Islamic democratic system with only those allowed to vote who have at least passed 12th grade or they pay their income tax.

Everyone should be forced to vote and there should be some sort of Penalty for not voting.

As this option is not in the poll so i haven't voted for anything else.

anything related to Islam can be voted in Islamic State. These are the sub-categories of Islamic State in my opinion.

And I don't agree with penalty or force in our religion. There is no force in our religion. We cannot force anybody to do something. We can only request, suggest, encourage or recommend something to other Muslims/Non-Muslims and leave the decision to them to accept or reject. Its a matter between them and the God! and if you think Islamic Democratic System is good then what about the Non-Muslims of Pakistan? will they ever agree to such a system? and why?. We Pakistani Muslims are not willing to implement such system let alone Non-Muslim Pakistanis. And why do you think Islamic Decoractic system would be better than Democratic Republic under current circumstances of Pakistan?
