Rest of the Problems can be Dealt with and not an Imminent Existential threat.

Pakistanis who vote and support certain type of politicians to run Pakistan, all external threats can be taken care of.

A serious and growing threat from India. Extremism threatens internal stability, but I think this has been decreasing. As for 'Other', the other big threat is climate change, water scarcity and sustainability issues.

The latter is inevitable and imminent.

Okay guys please in order of three vote what you consider the biggest threats to Pakistan. I list -

1. Mullahism
2. India
3. Afghanistan

The biggest threats to Pakistan are:

1. Pakistanis.
2. Pakistanis.
3. Pakistanis.

"We have seen the enemy and he is us."

That's very true. Nine out of ten times we, ourselfs are the worst enemy of self. Israel, USA, India, Afghanistan and all others combined have not done the damage Pakistani's have done to themselves and will continue to do to themselves. My thoughts almost converge with yours on most things except for the army. You regard the military as the problem. I regard the military as the thin line that keeps chaos like Iraq, Syria, Libyia or Afghanistan from finishing Pakistan off into mass killing fields divided along sectarian, ethnic, tribal, clan divisions.

At the heart of the problem is mindset. Not education but that thing that needs more depth to it to mature. A outlook. I have a litmus test. The day Pakistan recognizes Israel is the day Pakistan's real problems will clear away and we will have a clear shot at becoming a developed nation whose passport is worth more then toilet paper.

This is not to say Israel is a angel or it will give Pakistan truckloads of money. Far from it. I am one of the biggest critics of Israel as @Solomon2 will tell you. The reason I think that recognition is a litmus test is simple. The conditions that would have to obtain in Pakistan for us to recognize Israel would be tolerance, pragmatism, realpolitik and a business like approach to the issues the country faces. In other words everthing opposite of Mulahism.

So looks like mullahism won. How they failed and let foreign imported extremist ideologies 'get in'?

Even traditional sunni Sufis are going on hectic.

Should have something like Diyanet system to prevent infiltration. I like the way Turks handled that, spot on.

.
The greatest threat to Pakistan is Pakistanis themselves.

1. Judicery
2. Bureaucracy
3. Educationist
4. Businesses
5. Industrialists
6. Healthcare
7. Politicians
Etc etc

We care for all except Pakistan.

Unfortunately not. The sample of voters we have on PDF is atypical of Pakistan. Excluding the possibility that non Pakistani's also voted the results are actually distressing. PDF is a platform that celebrates nationalism which actually is 'haram' to the Mullahists'. Furthermore the cohort of Pakistani's on PDF are above average educated, many from USA, Europe, Australasia and from urban backgrounds in Pakistan. Thus they are the most plugged in and open to the world Pakistani's you will find. Despite that fair few votes have gone to Israel, USA, Afghanistan and other. Which presumably will be Libtards like me.

Even going by this you can see there is no consensus. This explains why the government in Pakistan backed off facing the TLP threat. There simply was no consensus and chances are upto and exceeding 75% people in Pakistan either supported or were apologetic to TLP's position. 15% were probably in middle ground and only 10% probably would have supported a robust action. That explains everything. How can 10% push the 90%?

I regard the Army as a mainstay of Pakistan's security and greatly respect the rank and file. My only problem with their leadership is all their illegal and extra-constitutional activities that continue to harm the development of other institutions and contribute to the social development of the general population remaining abysmal to the detriment of the entire country.

But then again, the Army is also made up of Pakistanis, so my comment remains true. :D

"Tolerance" is a rather insecure basis for relations: it implies continued tensions. A better basis is to rely on a quality Prophet Muhammed (and imo some of his immediate successors) reportedly possessed and that the Israelis display in abundance but that Pakistanis are forbidden to display at all.
