What is possibility of Modi triggering 3rd war with Pakistan?

Stupid question.

Does India really need a war against Pakistan - they are doing it already amongst themselves. Modi is smarter than all Pakistani's combined so NO, he will not waste his time on Pakistan. But if Pakistan itches for one as they normally do then he'll not hold back.

I believe there is chance of 'conflict', whether it might be Pakistan's choice they wanted to make that conflict into an open war as that same unpredictability from Pakistan's side might stop India from a military action in 2008 but he can pick up limited conflicts in a very conventional way.

There are many other ways than an open conflict. !988-89 can be repeated by RAW. This time on larger scale because resources are available in plenty. I think NS is intelligent enough to understand this.

Nawaz Sharif has close links to terrorist groups and holds a soft corner for the terrorists that infiltrate Kashmir, there is supposedly some talk of various terrorist groups helped Nawaz win the election. NS is the trigger that has ballooned the recent spat of tensions and he is the chap who might cause a war with Pakistan's neighbors.

This is not just a question but an concern. Modi is leading a hate centric campaign in India and likes to receive those applauds when he exhales enmity towards Pakistan. His past record showed how chaotic he can when he enjoys power and control.

How likely do you see Modi getting into power and if he does (which seems possible) how likely do you find India initiating another war with Pakistan specially when power-balance has leaned more towards India over the past decade. With Modi getting into power, I have several reasons to think that India will itch for another war with Pakistan.

India won't trigger a conventional war with Pakistan. They will continue to arm Terrorist groups like TTP and BLA, which as a matter of fact at present seems to be working quite well.

For Pakistan to eliminate this disease these could be the following tactics. The Government and Political Parties as per APC use dialogue card to get as many people as they can for peace, the Pakistani Military on the other hand wait until 2014 to conduct massive strikes against hardliners in the Af-Pak region.
